    Is too big

I like the color and materials but is little big, so I would size down if possible

Little large but I made them work

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Usually I'm a size 2 (small) in all pants, but these were slightly a little large on me. There was some weird and awkward baggy/tight spots as well. They are still pretty comfortable pants and just wearing a belt really changes the experience in these pants!

I really wanted to love these pants but they did not suit my body type. I am 5'3" and about 125lbs, no curves and these weren't working in the waist and swimming in the legs. If you have some curves, this could be a great pant for you. They tend to run large, so I would size down if possible!

    Some flaws, some good things

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    Fit:Runs large
    Size Bought8

Bought the pants for camping in the Everglades. My bf swore mosquitos can't bite though them. I'm not entirely sure this is accurate; I still wound up with quite a few bites on my legs. They are very light and pack down small for hiking/ wilderness camping. I was also able to comfortably wear them as pants in 85 degree, humid weather while setting up camp. What people have said about the tight zippers and increasing bagginess over time is true. I bought a size 8 (I'm 5'3", 135 lbs with larger than average size thighs). I generally wear a size 6, but went up a size due to reviews about the zippers. These pants were unexpectedly large in the waist and baggy elsewhere (not as tailored looking as the picture). I could barely keep them on after wearing them for several hours. The zippers did feel tight around my thighs when I would bend my legs, but not to the point where it hindered my motion or made me feel like I would rip a seam. I also thought these might be a little short for a tall woman or someone with really long legs. My inseam is around 29" and these pants were only about 2 to 3 inches too long; most regular length pants seem to be like 4-5 inches too long. Also, the new desert khaki is a couple shades darker and has a hint of green to it that isn't evident in the picture.

Hey Catherine, Thanks for the great review and info! I'm sure this will help other people choose a size.

Perfect zip pants for this curvy girl

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:True to size

I got both the grey and khaki pants for a recent multi day hike. That was all I needed for pants because they are comfortable in all 3 positions. I am 5.4 and weigh 145 and was comfy in size 10, though I could’ve had a tighter fitting 8. They did give way with stretch fabric. Perfect for all temperatures and for damp days. Love them both!

    Great hiking pants/shorts

This is the second pair of these pants I’ve purchased. I primarily wear them for hiking but they’re comfortable for any use. The option to make them shorts is a plus and the length of the shorts is perfect.

    Works Well with Alterations

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:Runs small
    Size Bought12
    Height5` 6"
    Weight160 lbs

I'm normally a size 10 but I ordered a size 12 to allow for a looser fit on my legs. I'm glad I did. The waist was super big so I took the pants to my local tailor and had the waist altered several inches smaller. The zippers are still a little too tight on my thighs but this only bothers me when I'm crouching. Otherwise, these pants are holding up great and are keeping me cool and protected from my long backpacking trips this summer. I'd recommend with pretenses.

    Zippers tight on my thighs

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    Size Bought6
    Height5` 6"
    Weight135 lbs

I ordered my regular size in my first order and they were too big. I sized down one and the zippers are too tight on my thighs for hiking. For sizing, I'm 5'6, 135 lbs with average thigh muscle, not big, but not small legs. Size 8's are too big. Size 6's fit great but the zippers are tight and don't allow good movement.

    If between sizes go smaller

    Fit:Runs large
    Size Bought14
    Height5` 8"
    Weight155 lbs

I was between a 12 and a 14 and chose the larger size which was a big mistake. In retrospect, 12 would probably have been perfect. The size 14 was too big, especially in the waist. The cut looked nice and the shorts length, color, etc. No time to exchange, so I got my local tailor to fix the waist and they look really nice now. Will be trying them out in 10 days!

    Perfect Pants

I've been looking for a pair of convertible hiking pants that I can wear backpacking and on an upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic. I loved the fit as soon as it put them on! The fit is flattering but functional. I was debating between a size 8 and 6, and 6 was the right choice. As others have mentioned, the zippers don't stretch, but I don't anticipate this being a huge issue.

    Runs Large

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    Fit:Runs large

I was excited to try these pants, but had a hard time figuring out what size to order. I usually wear a size 5/6 so I ordered a 4 and 6. Unfortunately, both were way too large. I never wear smaller than a size 4, so I was really surprised. I'm looking for backpacking pants that fit without a belt, and sadly these don't fit the bill. Besides the size issue, these seem like decent pants. I agree with other reviewers saying the zippers around the legs are snug. I think if I sized down the zippers/thighs would be too tight. I like the style, versatility, and weight of the pants. I just wish they were more adjustable.

    I wanted to love these

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love the color and the fabric and they do look good but these are not functional at all. I tried them out hiking and rock climbing. First of all they run big. I'm 5'7" 135lbs and I always (ALWAYS) wear a size 6. When I tried them on they were a bit loose but no big deal I'm into low rise. I got a little warm in them and they were falling off! The fit in the thighs are on the tight side though so I think if I went down a size the thighs would be way too tight. I wish I would've returned them. The side pocket on the leg is useless for anything other than a chapstick or maybe *a* key. The back pockets are also too small. I don't use front pockets but these are the only useful pockets..sort of. Even though they are deep the slanted cut makes it very likely anything you put in them will fall out. Final thoughts if you are wearing these out to lunch great. If you plan to do anything other than sitting on your butt in these, don't get them.

the waist was a little big to the point where i needed a belt & the rise may be a little too low for some, but everything else was fine. very comfortable when hiking and love the shorts option. these dry super fast. great colors.

Great pants, run a little big

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    Fit:Runs large
    Size Bought2

    Weight115 lbs

These pants are really great for hiking. They are comfortable and have good pocket space. The shorts are a good length. I found the sizing to be a bit off. The waist was larger than I expected but they fit well everywhere else. Easily remedied with a belt but I'd rather not have to do that. I normally wear a 25 or 26 in jeans and ordered a size 2 in these pants.

    Awesome pants

I took these pants on a two week Iceland trip this July. They helped blocked the wind perfectly! Also - super quick to dry! I can't comment on the use of them as capris or shorts as the weather was cool. They were long on me (5'3"), however it wasn't as noticeable after I put my hiking boots on. I would recommend these pants to anyone going out on adventure!

    Perfect hiking pants!

    Fit:True to size

I bought these a month ago and put them right to use with some heavy hiking in Scotland. They held up perfectly. They were great for all kinds of weather. After hiking down a mountain in the pouring rain, my legs were barely wet. As I have long legs, they are a little short, but that doesn't matter when you are wearing hiking boots. Would highly recommend these pants!!

Hi, I am looking at the marmot lobo's convertible pant. If I wear a 4 in dress pants, would I wear a 4 in this pant? I have muscular legs so wasn't sure if I should size up or not. Thanks, Jennifer
