    Watch the sunrise.

Cold mornings around camp call for a warm puffy. Slip into the Marmot Featherless Hooded Insulated Jacket for warmth and comfort until the sun rises and burns off the morning chill. Its Thinsulate Eco Featherless insulation provides you with the warm you would expect from 700-fill down, but will still keep you warm in the morning's heavy dew. When you decide to scramble up to a higher viewpoint to watch the sun come up, the Angel-Wing Movement lets you reach high hand holds without the jacket rising up on you. Once the sun is up and the chill is disappearing, the whole jacket stuffs into its left pocket until you need it when the sun goes down again.

    • Lightweight synthetic hoodie for warmth on cold mornings
    • Featherless insulation provides warmth in wet conditions
    • Angel-Wing Movement offers mobility on morning climbs
    • Attached hood with elastic biding seals out the chill
    • Stuffs into pocket when afternoon temperatures warm up

    Feels Like Down, so comfy!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 125lbs

This jacket is so comfy, it has a synthetic filling but feels and looks like a down jacket. I wear it everywhere! I use it for rock climbing or just to lounge in. It is very warm, especially compared to my other synthetic jacket. I have used it as a mid layer while skiing and it has kept me very warm. I love this jacket!

    Great

Purchased for my wife. Her sizes are listed. She wanted synthetic, not down (to save a goose). She has worn it several times in 20 degree weather and says it is warm, and that she does not feel cold through it. She appreciates the hood. I will say that it looks a bit big on her, especially in the mid section. I ordered medium based on comment below about fit around large bust. Should've ordered small. The late night blue is a bit darker in person than on my computer screen.

    Better than Down!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I've been wearing the Featherless hooded jacket for the last couple of months in Salt Lake City. It has kept me warm and looking sharp! It is a very warm synthetic jacket that keeps me just as warm as my Down Sweater, and it weighs about the same. Why choose down when you can have this jacket for the same weight and warmth, but actually stays warm when it gets wet?

I highly recommend this jacket as a layering piece under a shell or as a stand alone jacket. It has kept me warm even to 30 degrees with just a baselayer underneath. The hood adds a whole lot of warmth, so I definitely recommend getting the hooded version.

In addition to the function and warmth, it is a very flattering fit and I found it to be true to size.

    Flattering and WARM!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 140lbs

Absolutely love this jacket. It has the warmth of a puffy without making you look like a marshmallow. I usually wear a medium in jackets but sized down with this one. I wear it comfortably over one thin layer. It is very warm and versatile. I wear it as a mid-layer while skiing and as a stand-alone piece around town.

    Great Winter Midlayer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I got this jacket about a month ago and have used it mostly for commuting and walking around town. I look forward to testing it out ski touring this winter and updating my review.

Sizing: I am between size Small and Medium depending on the style and cut of the garment. In this jacket I chose to go with a Medium so I can wear a sweater with it around town and over my shell when I'm touring. The small fit and was definitely more flattering but it got too tight around my, well, large bust. Hence my Medium in this jacket!

Features: It's a fairly straight forward insulation layer - two hand pockets and a chest pocket that doubles as a stuff sack. The stuff size on this one is the size of a tall nalgene. A bit larger than a Patagonia Down Sweater packed.

Perks: Even if this layer gets damp it will keep you warm, which is super important if you get stuck in a snowstorm! The Nylon on this insulation layer is more durable than that of a patagonia down sweater or mountain hardwear ghost whisperer and holds up against my cat much better.

If you have quesitons on sizing or if this is the right jacket for you, please give me a call. My direct phone line is 801-204-4694 and my email is kswistak@backcountry.com.

    Too warm??????

If there is such a thing a too warm in a jacket, this would win. But there is no such thing in my world, because I get cold very easily and quickly.

This coat is so WARM! I love it!! And it is instantly warm, unlike down which takes longer to warm up.

I sized down on this, which I normally do for mid layers. At 5 foot 8 and 140 pounds, I'm a solid medium in ski jackets, but the small is perfect in this one! And, the turquoise color is even better in person.

This packs into its own pocket. I have a photo for reference, so you can see the size of it, compressed.

I gave it 4 stars because I do not know how it will wash or last. I will have to update this later. But so far, after 3 months of use, it still looks brand new.

    Too warm??????
