I purchased this coat for spring skiing. I have been out in rain, snow and wind and it works great. Nice and work and sheds water quickly and is nice and warm. I was surprised how warn and dry i was and how well the coat worked in the conditions. Heavy wet snow on the top of the mountain and rain at the lower elevations. This will be my mountain jacket in the 30 -50F range.

The last few years I have come to really like Mammut gear. Generally it is durable and a good investment. After not being impressed with a Mammut down coat (which I was able to sell), and being underwhelmed by a Mammut synthetic puffy made for a certain "Co-Op" store, I looked to this model as a replacement. So far so good.

I tried it out "around town" for a couple days and was pretty happy. The real test would be on a cold ski weekend at Grand Targhee, Wyoming. Overall I am very happy. It provided ample warmth on a day where there was wind, snow, and temps around 20 F. It kept me dry and provided good warmth for its light weight.

The biggest things I like--this is a refined model by Mammut. It looks sharp, is lighter weight, and has nice zippers that are easy to open. I love that the face fabric is a bit more durable than lighter and easy-to-tear fabrics that a lot of other puffies have. The insulation is distributed such that the core has a bit more insulation and the arms have a little less insulation to allow for a better fit and less bulk. It works. There are three generous pockets that allow you to put in items for a typical day--camera, granola bar, hat, etc. The hood is easy to adjust and fits over a ski helmet easily. Moisture control was very good--I did not drown in my own perspiration.

This coat was warmer than last year's version of the Mammut Cruise HS. That coat, however, has more pockets, a heavier face fabric, a powder skirt, belay zipper on the front, pit zips, and is beefier. This one is lighter and more refined.

The only improvements I would like are pit zips for ventilation and/or a belay zipper on the front for venting. I found that I was able to cool off by removing a layer and unzipping the front just a bit.

    The red color is awesome.

A very nice addition to my kit. Very impressed and renews my faith in Mammut!
