The Poisson Ski borrows a surfboard trick for a looser tail

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I took these out on a morning of firm groomers before the snow softened up later in the day, and the stepped tail let me break the tail loose into a slash way easier than any other freeride ski I own. Once the powder opened up that same tail gave me plenty of float without ever feeling like a completely different ski."

Firm morning snow and soft afternoon powder usually call for two different skis, but the Line Poisson was designed to handle both without asking us to choose. We knife into a hard packed carve at first light, and the zoned titanal underfoot holds an edge with real precision, then as the sun softens the snow, the stepped tail breaks loose into an easy slash that feels borrowed straight from a surfboard.

That stepped tail is more than a visual signature, since the defined break in the running surface makes the ski feel short and playful on firm snow while leaving real surface area behind the step for float once the snow turns deep. Underneath, an Aspen Veneer core keeps things snappy, and uni directional carbon stringers add pop that a toned down camber profile gives up elsewhere. Zoned titanal placement trades the full metal sheet found in most freeride skis for segmented flanges in the tip and tail, holding onto stability underfoot while freeing up flex for a livelier, more playful ride.
