Ride with precision and comfort using the Lake CX238 Wide Road Shoe—designed for high-performance cyclists
Lake evolves the CX237 to the new CX238 with updates to improve the longevity and performance of this long-time favorite road racing shoe in a wide model that is 15mm wider than the standard. The Competition last is shaped for better fit and comfort during hard efforts, with a slimmer heel and wider forefoot to allow for foot expansion under pressure. Supporting it all is Lake’s Race carbon fiber sole, providing the stiffness we need for better power transfer and durability. A panel at the heel and a rubber bumper at the toe protect from prematurely wearing out the full-grain leather upper, which has mesh panels and venting to improve cooling.

Wonderful Shoes
- Familiarity:

Purchased the Blk on Wht (wide fit) size 43, should have gotten 42.5. The wide model runs a bit large (just under 1/2 size). Very comfortable, extremely roomy, flexible, light & did I mention comfy? Love these shoes, will continue to use UFN.

Painfully uncomfortable
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
No matter where you position the cleat on the shoes, you will feel the specific position pressure of the cleat through the sole. Never experienced this with any of my other shoes. There is almost zero pressure distribution through the sole.

High Quality Shoe

Just received these today. Wow, very impressed with the quality of materals, design, and construction. The fit is perfect. I purchased the white in 42.5. I have learned that I absolutely must buy only wide option shoes. My feet are more square shaped than the normal tapered foot, and these fit so well, are so comfortable. I can tell by the quality that they will last a long long time.

Great road shoe for wide feet

Most comfortable road shoes for wide feet. Easy to adjust. Just make sure you have the correct measurements for your foot WHEN splayed as if you were standing on the pedals. (Foot gets wider and sometimes longer). Lakes size chart with proper measurements is spot on. One issue is that Lake wide shoes can cause over pronation if you don’t set up your cleats properly. I had to move the cleats more to the middle (side to side) with the minimum shoe/crankarm clearance to keep from some pronation.

NOT THE SAME SIZING AS ALL OTHER LAKES
- Familiarity:

- 46.5
Dissappointingly the length is about 1/2 size shorted BUT the toe box width is HUGE. Its like when they designed these they wanted to use the same amount of material. Theory:if its wider, it must be shorter so the same amount of material is used. I have 4 other pairs of wide Lakes. They are all not wide enough (for me) but the length of toe box is perfect. O, I'm talking about a size 46.5. I assumed that these would be the same size as ALL OTHER lakes BUT WIDER. NoT THE CASE here. I love them but I cant do century rides with them on because my toes cramp up due to lack of space in toe box area. So I cant dress in a red color coordiated outfit for long rides. Bummer!

Very Comfortable
- Familiarity:

By far the most comfortable cycling shoes I’ve had. I’m normally a size 13 US wide or extra which is usually a 47 EU, but ended up with size 48 EU with this shoe. I have a wide foot but also oddly shaped where I experience pressure along the outside of the big toe pushing up against the toe box. With these shoes that does not happen. I cycle in hot humid conditions in FL with no issues. These are my first shoes with double BOA and really like the flexibility they provide for tightening. Will be getting a second pair and hope Lake keeps making these and adding different color options.

Wide heel did not work for me
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Got a pair of these with great anticipation of the wide fit helping my crushed toes. Immediately had an issue. The heel is also wide. I got heel strike on the crank arms every revolution. I even tried moving the cleats all the way to inside to accommodate and no dice. Never had this with any shoes before. Had to return them.
