Soooo Comfortable, but Still Returned…
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- 40
I tried several hiking boots and shoes, and this boot was by far the most comfortable. Lots of cushion. Sized up 1/2 size. Good fit. Unfortunately, the high ankle support bothered me. I ended up going with a Salomon mid, although I will need to buy inserts to add comfort.

Light as comfy!
- Size Bought:
- 7.5
Bouncy on the paved roads. Well-made! Wish there were kids size. Other reviews said they ran small; actually they are true to size. But I don’t regret buying half size up.

Best boot in a long time
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 40.5
I am extremely happy with this boot! I had never tried a pair of La Sportivas and knew nothing of the brand's reputation (I've had Solomons that lasted five years, and bought Keens and Merril before that), but this boot had all the features I need in the AZ desert--good tread with a straight edge, no mesh, and light color (it's actually tan, not cantaloupe colored as it appears on the screen). With Backcountry's fast shipping, and excellent return policy, I felt brave enough to order them without ever trying on something made by this brand. They were comfortable right out of the box--stiff enough to need a little break-in by just wearing around the house and yard for a day, but not so stiff it was a problem. Lightweight--the structure is thin, relative to other boots I've bought, but extremely sturdy and seemingly durable. They also kept my feet dry while tromping through a meadow that soaked my pant legs, but don't make my feet sweat. My only two complaints are that they came up as an option when I filtered for or searched for "wide" boots, and they're not; the European sizing should have clued me in. I have yet to wear them on a strenuous hiking trip, so we'll see if that's a problem, but so far it hasn't been. The other "issue" I have (it's more of a personal quirk than an actual problem) is with the top two grommets; they have a small gap in the middle that you have to squeeze the laces between before pulling them tight, instead of the usual "hook from behind" style, but it's really not a show-stopper. If you HATE that style of grommet, don't get these, but if you're looking for a great boot, don't let it stop you from purchasing them! Thanks, Backcountry! My feet are very happy.

Amazing

These are so comfortable and light weight comparing to my other hiking shoes. The ankle support! I can’t wait to try them out on the trail. The structure is really amazing. For the size I used the chart and it was perfect. If you’re a new to hiking you need to know for hiking shoes you need a half size bigger than your everyday walking shoes; room for downhill.. I’m a 8 1/2 in my regular shoes so I get a 9 in my hiking shoes US so got 40.5.
