Why We Like The Kubo Climbing Shoe
We pull on the Kubo Climbing Shoe for flashing routes on the lead wall and topping out in the boulder room. The toe rubber integrates into the toe edge for greater hooking performance and increased durability. These entry-to-mid-level shoes are so comfortable that we don't even take them off between sends.

Not durable
Shoes have good grip (as usual for sportiva shoes) but rubber is too thin. Were worn very quickly - 3 month or so climbing 3 times per week in the gym.

exceeded all expectations
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 37
I bought the Kubo to use as a more comfortable option than my performance fit Scarpa Vapors for a multi-pitch heavy trip. They exceeded all of my expectations, to the point that my Vapors saw zero action on the trip. The Kubo's were super responsive. They handling edging + smearing exceptionally well. As an added bonus, they weren't excruciating in the occasional foot jam. Loved that they were comfortable enough to keep my feet happy all route, day and trip long without feeling sloppy. In a world of $200+ climbing shoes the Kubo is a total gem. For reference: I bought the Kubos in a 37, the same size as my older model TC pros (also sized on the more comfortable side of things). The Kubos seem to fit slightly more snuggly, which was perfect for me. Haven't noticed much (if any) stretch.

Great Intermediate Shoe
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

- 35.5

When I had worn out my first pair of climbing shoes, I was looking to upgrade from a neutral to a slightly more aggressive shoe. I had tried on several shoes (and by several I mean 20+), but none of them fit the way I needed them to. And definitely none were as comfortable as my initial scarpa force vs. BUT the la sportiva kubos have just the right amount of performance edge and comfort that I was looking for. I can trust my feet on smaller holds and it hugs my feet just right. I did size down a tad, so a little tight right out of the box, but it's growing on me. Comfort is a priority for me. And the nice colors help too! Street size : 6 Scarpa Force Vs : 37 La Sportiva Kubos : 35.5
