    Kaptiva Trail Running Shoe

With the La Sportiva Kaptiva Trail Running Shoe you can navigate technical terrain with ease, even when you're cruising down the trail at higher speeds. It was designed to give you a precise fit, stability for uneven terrain, and underfoot grip that'll keep your footing secure on any trail surface. It starts with a slip-on construction that features a knit wraparound tongue and a Trust-Fit shape that'll give you a snug and secure fit to prevent your shoe from sliding around when you're darting over roots and rocks. A supportive midsole offers stability and protection thanks to torsion-resistant inserts and an EVA rock plate, so you can run without worry on uneven or rocky trails. On the outsole there's a grippy rubber compound that won't slip out on steep surfaces, while an Impact Brake System and a complete set of lugs ensures that you'll be able to dig into the trail whether you're grinding your way up or cruising on down.

    My new favorite shoe!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 46 eu
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 152lbs

The Kaptiva strikes the perfect balance between weight, comfort, and protection. The sock like liner allows the shoes to slip on with ease and feel secure even when not laced tight. The rubber is very sticky, so you still get decent traction even on wet stone. The tread wears slightly quicker than the bushido, but that is the trade off for better grip. The shell of the shoe is very tough and holds up well to scrapes and abrasions. The laces are also the best I have ever used. I'm not sure what they did, but these laces have an incredible amount of friction. The shoes have never come un-laced on me, even with just a single knot. As for sizing, I purchased the exact same size as I wear in the bushido and the fit is perfect.
I use these shoes for everything right now. I wear them around town, on road and trail runs, and they have even become my go to approach shoe for bouldering. No matter what I'm doing, I know I can trust the Kaptiva to perform.
If you order these, I promise you won't be disappointed. I just ordered my second pair!

    Super comfy, wears quick

Unlike some other shoes, I feel like these required a short break in period but after that they are super comfortable. They do seem to get more stuff inside the shoe then others though.

My biggest complaint is that the soles started to wear sooner then I would have liked. At 200 miles they looked like my Salewa’s at 400 miles. They’re still comfortable to wear several times a week, but definitely don’t have the same level of traction.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 43.5
    • Height: 5'8"

Ive put hundreds and hundreds of miles on my bushido IIs and knew these
were coming out and couldnt wait to get my feet in these !!!! off the bat I did
a 20K warm up in them and I LOVE the feel of the fit given its a sockliner .
super comfortable , AMAZING traction over granite, roots, wet ,dry, pretty
much ANY terrain I could throw at them !!! a little more room in the fore foot
than my bushidos ( for me anyway..) second run in them I did a 50K and again they are amazing in every way over every type of terrain in the white mtns. of N.H... lugs on these shoes are more sticky so faster wearing, but AMAZING traction...if your feet type fit these I HIGHLY recommend !!!! like ALL
sportivas they DO run small..( I went up a full size with NO problems)
As a side note Claire Gallagher just won western states in these shoes, so enough said … : ))))))
