Cute but gapes in back

I’m on the fence with this one. Ordered a small. I’m short (5’2”) and wouldn’t have to have this hemmed, which is a bonus,. But I couldn’t wear this as is. It fits well in the bust, but there’s so much extra fabric on one side in the back that it gapes terribly - on just the right side. Maybe this is intentional, so it’s easy to slip off? Or maybe there’s a quality issue with this one, but either way it’s weird.
