Why We Like The Ridge Flex Mid WP Hiking Boot

For easy stepping on our backpacking trips, we lace up the Ridge Flex Mid WP Hiking Boot. Keen took the favorited fit of their iconic Targhee trekker and fused it with their innovative forefoot Flex technology, so we literally use less energy to move forward while still enjoying the fit we love. Our toes splay naturally in the roomy toebox, while the heel-capture system gives us security and stability. Surprise showers and sketchy water crossings don't put a pause on our adventure with the waterproof membrane keeping our feet dry while still letting them breathe.

The tongue of these boots is designed so that when the boots are tied, the tongue’s attachment fabric rubs against the front ankle joint. I took them out for a short hike, but didn’t even leave the parking lot. After several adjustments failed, I took them off and put on my old boots.

Warm even tho technically not

Warm even tho technically not insulated. Great for all seasons—even winter when snow is not too deep. Love that there is room to wiggle the toes! This my 2nd pair and the first lasted for many years and untold miles of hikes. They were still waterproof but were just losing tread. I have NEVER gotten wet feet in these boots! ❤️

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted good boots that I can use during the winter months in Illinois. These run slightly wide, but a good pair of socks should remedy that. Traction is very important to me and I find that these are quite grippy. You can’t really go wrong with Keen. If traction is your key to your purchase, then these are what you need

Need half sizes above size 10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Please make some half sizes after size 10. Going up a full size is too much and I have heel blister from the looseness. Uncomfortable around the ankle, could use better padding.

Bottoms Fall Off

I've always liked the fit and durability of the keens boots. Prior I have bought mens as I have wide feet but I found these and was impressed they accommodated my wide feet. I've had these boots since March 2021 and have had to glue the bottoms back on twice. I'm very disappointed that the black textured rubber on the bottom shoe basically falls off in strips and no heavy duty glue will make it stay. It was after about 30 miles on them I noticed the rubber coming off and other pieces pocketing trapping debris. To add to my displeasure the "bellows" are nosey and the over all cushion of the foot bed wanes overtime to become uncomfortable. I'm not easy on my boots and living in the back country of the UP isn't doesn't help but I expected them to last longer and be better quality

My boots fit really good,

My boots fit really good, very comfortable from the first time I wore them. Since I haven’t had this kind before, I’m going to see how well they hold up to my farm life and work.

Works for this little old lady

I run between a size 7 and a Size 7.5. I got the 7.5 . My feet are not particularly wide, but they are duck foot shaped, so I always need a generous toe box. These boots are a great fit. They do require me to wear a thicker sock, for the best fit. These are my second pair of keen boots and I'll keep coming back!

not waterproof!

I've used it several times

I wanted to like these boots. They fit well enough, though not as well as my Keen steel toe boots. But when I took my dogs for a 4 mile walk in the rain yesterday (no river/puddle crossings), I wound up with wet toes. The boots have at most 50 miles on them so should still be waterproof. Turns out I won't be able to take them backpacking with the risk of wet cold toes while camping. I've had my Keen workboots for years and they are still completely waterproof. Left shoe leaked first, felt it about 2.5 miles into the walk, right foot toward the end.

KEEN Ridge Flex Mid WP Hiking Boot

I've put it through the wringer

Loyal Keen fan here of many years. Yep, I've tried other hiking boots, but none compare to Keen & their signature toe box, there is no rival! My Keens have been in all terrain from the east coast to the west coast & in between & abroad. And then of course they are my go to footwear for playing & daily walks with our collie. Great fit, comfort, traction & waterproof equal Keen. :)
