Disappointed. Brought this to the BWCA for a family of 5. Probably could have drank the water right from the lakes the water is so good up there. But the flow rate was down to a trickle half way through the second 10L gravity bag. Not sufficient for our needs. If you’re a solo camper, I’d maybe say go for it. I’ll probably get you through a week in the backcountry. I find it more convenient than those hand pump options. But I’m still disappointed for the price.

I've put it through the wringer

I use probably 6-10 of these a year doing various multiday fastpack outings. When they work, they are perfect for dunking in a creek and chugging, and then refilling for the upcoming miles. They are the fastest I have found for this, so I keep one in my front vest pocket. But the negative: the inconsistency. Sometimes I'll get weeks of fine performance and sometimes within the first couple liters it will seem to clog and barely trickle water through. I can't figure out why this happens. I'm always drinking clear mountain water (which some of my friends don't even filter). During a recent sale I purchased 6 of these through Backcountry, and the first one of the batch was done within 3 liters! By the end of the first day I felt like I was about to explode my soft flask to get anything to flow through. Very frustrating!

Works great, but one.

It’s functional and it was great to use with my 17 ounce Hydro pack. Well worth it for the multi our hikes so I didn’t need to carry all of the water I needed from the start.

Perfect for hydrapak 2-3L

Goes perfectly with hydrapak!!!! Use this system to carry water from source back to camp. The water source on ridgeline trails is hard to get to, these make refil and use a breeze with minimal weight!!!!

Simple and easy to use. Paired with my 2 liter hydrapak, it’s quickly becoming my go-to water filtration system.

4 Days in Yosemite Tested

The reviews of how good this is are real and while I wanted to trust them – it's 2022 and bots are a thing. 4 days in the high country doing parts of the PCH and John Muir Trail and this combined with the Hydrapak was a game changer. Just remember if it's going to be freezing at night and you want water in the morning to keep the filter/pak in the tent.

I have used these filters in every shape and size for the past decade. The quality of the water is unmatched in my book and I have tried a dozen or so different methods. The easy of use of this filter on the bottles, bladders etc is great. It's lower profile them other bottle top filters.
