These cartridges are designed for Katadyn Explorer and Explorer Pro water filters. They are not the replacement pack for Katadyn Combi filters or the Activated Carbon Bottle Adapter. What conditions suit the Katadyn Explorer carbon replacements?
They’re useful for hiking, camping, travel, and field use with a compatible Explorer filter when treated-water taste or odor needs improvement. Install a cartridge in the carbon stage of a compatible Explorer or Explorer Pro filter, following the filter’s replacement instructions. This keeps the cartridge seated within the system’s intended treatment path. How should I maintain and replace the carbon cartridges?
Replace the carbon element as water quality and use indicate, and follow the Explorer filter’s maintenance instructions. Keep care of the carbon stage distinct from the ceramic and virus-filter components, which have their own cleaning and storage guidance.
