The one you'll wear all year.

You've learned from experience that the tail end of every season is the best time to get out in the mountains—late fall trail runs consist of empty trails, tacky conditions, and misty mountain views, and spring skiing usually equates to a stable snowpack, creamy spring corn, and tourist-free mountains. The Icebreaker Men's BodyFit 200 Oasis Legging With Fly thrives in these kind of conditions thanks to its lightweight merino wool fabric that's breathable, temperature regulating, and naturally odor-resistant. Icebreaker's 200 weight fabric is best suited for cool to cold conditions (fall, spring, and mild winter temperatures) and is specifically designed to be worn all year.

    • Ideal for backcountry touring and cold-weather running
    • Lightweight fabric designed for moderate to cool conditions
    • Merino wool regulates temperature and naturally resists odor
    • Flatlock stitching and brushed elastic waistband reduces chafing
    • Slim fitting with a gusseted inseam for enhanced mobility

    Definite sizing problem

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 150lbs

Nicely constructed leggings but way too small for me -- both on the hips and rise. I had a size M. Exchanged for the 200 "Everyday" version (M) and a perfect true-to-size fit.

    Pleasant Surprise

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    • Size Bought: Large

Icebreaker isn't a brand I had used before getting this baselayer as a Christmas present, Icebreaker is now a brand on my radar. These leggings are comfortable and breathable all while keeping me warm in moderately cold temperatures. Not once have I been too hot or too cold on the mountain while wearing these. I haven't worn them in anything below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, give or take a few degrees.

If I could pick a highlight of this product it would be comfort. I'm a sucker for being comfortable on the mountain, and these stand out in that regard. They do fit a little more snug than other baselayers in size Large that I own. The fly comes in handy when you need to dip out at the mid mountain lodge (also known as the trees by the Collins angle station) to use the restroom.

    Pleasant Surprise

    Good but fits weird

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 210lbs

I like these pants but the fit is a little bit weird around the calves. I don't have abnormally large calves but the pants are a little short and a little tight around the bottom. The waist band is a little bit too low too, chronic plumber's crack.
Even with the weird fit I do like them, I bought them to keep me warm and that is exactly what they do. I pair them up with a pair of softshell pants and I've been fine down in single digit temps.

    Go to long johns

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'7"

I use them for skiing, hiking, climbing and as pajamas. They are the most versatile baselayer in icebreakers line, being the middle weight.
They are surprisingly warm for how light they are. I've never over heated in them, for wool they breathe quite well. And they never smell! Even after a hard day of skiing.
They are super comfortable, perfect for layering under heavier pants. They fit very tight, making them easy to layer. The tight fit does not restrict mobility at all. But if you have massive quads I'd suggest going a size up. Buy them if you're looking for midweight long johns that can do anything.

    Great Material, Okay Fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I extended by base layer quiver recently with the Icebreaker BodyFit 200 Oasis Legging With Fly to accompany Icebreaker BodyFit 200 Oasis Zip-Neck Top as I am not only a creature of habit but consistency as well. As with the Oasis top, the 200 weight merino and the way it is woven gives a fantastic balance of warmth and breatheability while still comfy on the skin.

The fit for me is a bit strange though. I'm 5'11", 180 lbs with a 32.5 inch inseam a med-smallish waist/hip and a larger upper/lower leg size that comes with most skiers that did back squats a ton so that they could bash gates better. The waist and hip size was pretty much good, but the length of the leg was definitely a bit small and the leg opening was very small on the upper side. The merino may stretch and break in, but I found I was pull the leg of the garment up more than normal for a comfortable feel.

I would recommend this legging to anyone looking to accompany the Oasis top for all winter conditions, but with skinnier legs.

    Wool is still the best.

These are great. I would say these ran true to size for me and are a perfect fit. In my opinion there is no substitute for wool. Very well made product. I also have many other Icebreaker woolen products.

    Stellar baselayer

Planning to wear these on my 2014 thru hike of the AT. Have worn them nearly every day at work and to bed since receiving them and the wonders of merino is so true; no stink! Elasticity stays put. Have camped in and tested them on a hike down to 2 degrees F with only nylon hiking pants over them and was completely content. A very convenient fly for bathroom breaks at night. Also do a great job of circulating; haven't overheated yet at work and my job consists of climbing with kids all day. Will be buying another pair when these wear out. Great construction with no itch. Not to mention the snazzy grasshopper color way gets the ladies attention! 4.5 stars

    Excellent, as usual

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Icebreaker, definitely up to their standard tricks. Fit is great, construction is great, extremely comfortable and functional. They run a little small. I am 6'1" 170, 32" waist x 33" inseam (skinny, long legs), and I got an L, which are snug but not tight, and seem a little short when I put them on clean but they stretch a bit during normal wear and then end up perfect. These replaced a previous pair that I wore for thousands of hours until the crotch disintegrated. That pair lasted me 7 years of heavy 2-3 season use! Highly recommended all around.

    Love them!

Typical Icebreaker! Just wonderful. I have been using Icebreaker tops for years but had yet purchased any of their bottoms. I shouldn't have waited. Warm yet super breathable. Just like the rest of their products. Using them for hiking, snowboarding and skiing. Will definitely be purchasing more!

I also wear them every day.

About to buy a second pair to cut down on wash but I go 3 days (ok, 5...7) without washing and they don't stink at all! Best tramping and cold weather work layer I've seen. Tip: after wash, gently stretch the legs down when still damp and they retain proper length when dry, otherwise the merino shrinks up a bit. I'm sized as an M but went L and rightly so. I'm 6'1" a 33" waist and despite the L specs, fit perfect and length is great. Enjoy. Oh, if it matters to you, the waistband is black, not the lime color shown (on cargo colored one).
