    Small axe

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I wanted an ax for chopping firewood in my backyard. Did not do enough research prior to ordering this. This is a pretty small ax, really just longer than a hatchet, probably great for packing in. The craftsmanship is amazing, Unfortunately not long enough or heavy for what I have typically used to split wood. Returned, bought a longer heavier axe.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm an ambassador for Hults Bruk, and so i've used many of their axes and hatchets quite extensively. I manage about 20 acres of pine forest and 10 acres of mature hardwoods using axes only, and heat my home with wood so I do a lot of splitting. I usually associate different tasks with a different axe, whether it's chopping or splitting, or clearing trails. Since receiving the Akka, it's replaced my HB Torneo as my go-to for any scenario.

Most Versatile Axe I've Ever Owned

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've owned many axes and this is the most versatile and capable axe I've ever had. It's my go-to on backcountry canoe trips as it has the perfect length to weight ratio. It can fell and split with the best of 'em and the quality is unsurpassed. I've had it for about 2 years now and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a serious axe. Don't underestimate Hults Bruk, they know what they're doing after 300 years of existence. To be fully transparent, I am an ambassador for Hults Bruk but they value my honest opinion and do not tell me what to say. They send me the gear and I put it to the test, and the Akka passed with flying colours.
