Why We Like The HOKA Mach 6 Running Shoe

From negative splits to sprint repeats, HOKA's Mach 6 Running Shoe is driving our journey to a new personal best. Upgrading the midsole from that of the Mach 5, the Mach 6 now features a single-density super critical foam midsole to bring a more lively and energetic feel to our daily runs. The early-stage meta-rocker catapults us into fast and powerful transitions, while the rubberized foam outsole gives our strikes a bite without the weight.

Like Walking On Clouds!

This model (MACH 6), is a return to better days! I am a nurse and I have worn HOKA's to work in for over 10 years...the first pair I ever wore were like these, but the next 9 pairs were just not as "cushy", though they were cushy enough to get me through the long days on my feet. HOKA, you need to put clouds in EVERY model! Thank you, from the bottom of my "sole" for these shoes!

I would buy these again!

Very comfortable. I love the cushion soles, and the thin-style tongue (like my Rincon 3). I would recommend to anyone!

Bring back the Mach 5

I do not like these shoes. The Mach 5 was a great shoe with a great fit. The 6's are super narrow (and I don't even have wide feet). They are too tall in the midsole and the added outsole tread is weirdly sticky. Ran in them for 2 weeks and couldn't stand it anymore. bought another pair of Mach 5's before they are gone forever. I do NOT recommend this shoe, especially if you loved the 5's.

Awesome everyday/training / running

Great support but light weight with good cushion. Definitely a better option than the clifton 9 for me.

Not a Mach

Changed the Mach into a speed shoe basically, it's light but very tight now. The best Mach was 4 & 5. Hoka if you're going to do a big change like this then call it something different. This isn't a Mach

Fit has changed

I recently purchased Hoka Profly Mach 6 to replace my Profly Mach 5. The Profly 5 purchased last summer had 1000 miles on them and the heels had worn holes on the backside inside of the shoe while the soles were worn down flat. The Mach 5 were my first Hoka and fit like a glove (sz10.5), light as a feather and cushion like a dream. Initial try of the Mach 6 was a little tighter across the width of my foot (same size) but good snug fit, nice cushion and again, light as a feather. The thin tongue and flat laces was something new with Hoka but I have actually come to like it as it stays in place well on longer distances. It's been a little over a week and 50 miles now, the tightness across the width of my foot persists and is not very comfortable, sometimes cutting off circulation and making my toes numb. I measured across the area on the Mach 6 vs Mach 5 and it's a 1/4 inch less - could be wear but we will see if they wear in and stretch a little - I did not have this problem on the Mach 5. The heel fit on the other hand is a bit loose which leads to my heel moving up and down in the shoe on longer distances 10 miles and up and starts developing chafe and blisters. The Mach 5 had a little of this and Mach 6 seems to have more of it. Perhaps it's my foot? I still love the light weight and cushion but if the shoe does not loosen up a little in the width I will probably not use Hoka in the future. Wish they had kept the last from Mach 5, loved that shoe and several friends and family bought it.

I would definitely buys these shoes again!

Love how these shoes feel, it is like walking on air. My previous shoes hurt my feet and they were running shoes.

Tread falls off

First pair I bought lost the layer of tread within a couple hours of wear. Got a refund and decided to give them another chance. Same exact shoe experienced the same defect in a couple days. The adhesive they use on the tread is not sufficient. Need to change the way the tread is connected to the shoe.
