Looks good but too high above ankle

Loved the look of these boots and they are lightweight...unfortunately they were too high above the ankle to be comfortable so I had to make a return:(

Out of the box

Straight out of the box these hikers are perfect. Finally a boot that doesn't squish my little toes, has plenty of cushion, is easy to pull on, loves terrain. Plenty of boxes get checked off with these beauties.

If you need Bondi 8 style, this will not fit you.

I need the wide toe box of the Bondi 8 (or the older versions of the other models built wide in front), then this isn't for you. It has a more narrow toe box and I found the cushioning only okay. The tread and grip of the shoes in slippery conditions was good. It's a good looking shoe/boot imo. But I wasn't able to wear them; very uncomfortable.

Why don't you offer wides in these?

After exchanging for color 3x and finally finding a nice normal not all girled up brown color, I wore them hiking only to determine that they're just too narrow and kinda long. This lead to a somewhat unstable, sloppy feeling on the trail, not what I'm looking for in a hiking boot unfortunately. I don't think these will stretch enough, as the footbed itself is too narrow at the base. If they were offered in wide I might give them another try and maybe size down 1/2 size so they don't feel so long and clumsy. I feel the same way about the Anacapas, although the breeze ones have finally stretched just enough to be marginally ok for shorter hikes, please offer them in wide too!!!

Returning - Ankle Rub

Sadly I'm returning these. Both boots rubbed terribly on my ankle bones. I didn't even have to wear them outside to feel it.... Just walking to the kitchen. I tried messing with the laces, not tying the top one... but if I can't tie the boot up, it defeats the purpose of wearing a tall boot.

Great for winter!

Doing a walking fundraiser, 62 miles in January. Besides being cold, Vermont roads and trails can be frozen, icy and snow covered one day, and wet and muddy the next. I'm 39 miles in so far and these boots have been perfect! My feet have stayed warm and dry, the traction is excellent, AND the cushioning has been kind to my 70 year old knees!

Winter approved!

I've had these boots for about 8 months now. They have been great but today really set in stone for me to buy another pair. It is snowing in our location. My family went on a little hiking trip in the woods. I got to close to a creek and fell. When I got up I sunk my boot into the creek. My first thought was oh no my foot is going to be soaked and cold walking out of here. Nope!! My foot is dry and warm. Best boots ever!!!

as advertised

Great fit. excellent cushioning. Easy on easy off. One drawback: the ties need to be a bit longer
