Kvitegga Shell Jacket

It’s easy to make excuses not to go skiing—it’s too cold, it’s too windy, the visibility sucks, the snow is too wet. But in Helly Hansen Women’s Kvitegga Shell Jacket, all of those excuses are void. No matter the weather, snow conditions, or how badly you want to whine about something, the Kvitegga is a key that opens the door to solo runs in a normally packed resort, getting first, second, and third tracks on the backcountry’s boldest lines, and viral-worthy footage of your best park laps.

The Helly Tech Professional fully waterproof shell bestows complete confidence in the face of the toughest winter elements. Complete with unbeatable breathability and underarm vents, you’re free to work up a sweat bootpacking up the mountain’s summit without worrying about freezing over at the bottom. The jacket’s high visibility detailing will help your friends keep track of you when the snow is blowing sideways.

But the best part of the Kvitegga has to be its versatility over the course of the season. Once spring has sprung, zip off the powder skirt for better circulation and use the two-way zipper to bring in a fresh breeze. And when you take an unavoidable tumble through the slush, reach for the goggle shammy inside the zippered chest pocket to wipe your eyes dry.

I am so happy with the shell - it is super waterproof (wore it all day in a snowstorm, with a few tumbles in the powder), fits really well (with enough room for a puffer underneath) and has all the pockets you could need. And it is really flattering. Friends loved the visibility of the bright orange accents on the hood in low visibility conditions. Highly recommended. I would say it is true to size - I am usually a L and this fit great.

Perfect shell

I’ve had this jacket for a few weeks and used it primarily for skiing. Lots of pockets making it easy to take anything I need with me rather than running into the lodge. I have big hips and needed something that was long in the back but fit comfortably. I bought the XL and works great for layering with great wind protection. The dual zipper helps to provide a little more movement as well. I typically unzip the bottom just a bit but I don’t really need too since the coat is a looser fit overall. No complaints so far!!!

I have been looking to upgrade my old insulated resort jacket for a more versatile shell for years now, and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. This shell is fantastic. Keeps you super warm and dry. Great, flattering fit. And the dope colors are the cherry on top! Highly recommend.

L.O.V.E. So much great stuff going on in one shell! The material itself is super light and thin- exactly what I wanted. The "glacier" color is a beautiful bright blue and has super fun pink accents that pop out. I could have also worn a small, but I wanted a little more room to layer (I tend to run cooler) and on cold days I put a hooded down puffy underneath and could not be happier. The length hits right below my hips in the front and the little bit of a longer jacket tail covers my bum in the back- great for sitting on chilly chairlifts! In terms of features, there are nice long pit zips for great temperature control on the slopes. I especially like the wide velco on the adjustable cuffs so I can make changes without ever having to take off my mittens. Win! I've found the life pocket to be effective- my phone hasn't died once since I started keeping it in there. I will note that there isn't a headphone cord port into the life pocket, but there are so many wireless headphones these days. Also, this jacket comes with a FREE LIFT TICKET to one of several resorts, courtesy of Helly Hansen's Ski Free program. Love this shell!

Says reach for the goggle shammy inside the zippered chest pocket to wipe your eyes dry in the description. Just got this jacket and this is not a feature on it just so you know. Also, where is the Recco on the jacket?
