Why We Like The Garibaldi 2.0 Jacket

The Garibaldi 2.0 Jacket from Helly Hansen is coming back for another round of helping us slash powder at the resort. Updated from its former self, Helly Hansen dialed back the insulation to give the jacket more mobility and better versatility, with 40g of fill in the sleeves and 60g at the core—where it counts most. And worry not, The Garibaldi 2.0 still features a waterproof, breathable membrane and fully sealed seams, so you'll be riding high and dry from first chair to last.

Good jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
large

Bought this a month ago but haven't had a chance to go skiing yet. Seems nice not too heavy and long sleeves. One thing I did notice is the dedicated phone pocket is too small for the larger modern phones (Samsung Galaxy Note20 so or similar). Thought HH should have been aware of this and made it bigger. My wife bought a Montec which has a great large phone pocket. Come one HH get your act together.

Best design and materials. I buy new sets about every 3 years and this evolution is excellent. Fit is true to size.

Really wanted to keep this jacked but unfortunately I had to return it. Great materials, workmanship, and color. Great features. However, the jacket runs tight in shoulders. Tried it with baselayers and moving arms around one can definitely feel the tightness on shoulders and arm pits. I am an average build - no huge biceps or shoulders. Great jacket otherwise. Would be a great fit for someone with narrower frame but fit for height. Too bad....

Color wise the jacket is much darker in person than website pictures. The logos of the jacket are actually bright orange and not black as pictured. As the other reviews mentioned this Jacket fits weird. I am 5?11? and 200 pounds. The large was too tight in my arms and shoulders. I exchanged for an extra large and was swimming and that jacket. I really wanted to like this jacket but the fit was very strange and doesn?t work for me.

So I'm not a very thick person and my arms I'd say lean towards the smaller size. Wearing this jacket feels fine and very comfy until you have to move your arms. The shoulders are not wide enough gets kind of tight if you cross your arms. I can't even bring my elbows in to touch in front of me. Also the elbow area is very tight. The fabric will bunch up and pinch your skin pretty good. You could get away with a thin base layer but it's still going to pinch some. Forget about running a thick base layer or even a mid layer with this jacket if you don't at least go up a size that you think fits you. If it wasn't for the shoulders being narrow and the elbow area of the sleeves being too small this jacket would honestly be perfect. The construction is nice, It's very warm and I like all the pocket placements. I especially like the hand gaiters! I could definitely deal with the shoulders being kind of narrow but the elbow pinching is just disappointing since all the other sizing portions of the jacket are good (torso, sleeve length and overall jacket length). If you have broad shoulders and thicker than average arms, this jacket is definitely not for you.

This is the best ski/snowboarding jacket I've ever owned. It is super comfortable, has all the bells and whistles, and regulates temp well. The material is bomb proof and I love the color. Can't wait for a monster powder day to really put this jacket through some work!
