Adventure-worthy warmth for the down days

Whether its a down day in the city or a travel day enroute to your next adventure, the Siljan will keep you warm, dry, and looking good thanks to a Proof two-layer membrane and eco-friendly cotton blend face fabric. Below the jacket's casual face is a technical construction that will keep you covered when you get left out in the rain, while  a 160g synthetic fill offers top-shelf warmth once the temperatures drop. Features on the Siljan include a three-way adjustable hood, four hand pockets, and a single internal chest pocket.

I was looking for a long parka to replace my coat of over 10 years to mostly wear to work and out and about town. I needed something that was slim looking, kinda minimalist on the outside, water resistant and some sort of artificial insulation. The Siljan checked the boxes and even more. I got a medium in True Black which is more like a dark grey. The fit is wonderful. I can't see how they got the slim look and yet I have full range of motion with my arms. No tightening of the fabric across my shoulders, and no excess fabric. I actually am welcoming the cold and rainy weather we have been having here in the Northeast this April as it's given me a chance to wear the Siljan.
Very warm and cozy. The outer fabric is soft. The fit is excellent. I am a 33 sleeve in a dress shirt and these are perfect. Love the fleece lining against the back of my head when the hood is down. My only complaint is the lack of hand warmer pockets behind the large lower front pockets. My hands hang now with nowhere to go.

After a half dozen times wearing this coat on cold, windy and rainy days in Omaha, I was impressed. Comfortable, warm and looks good.
Backcountry did a nice and quick job in exchanging the coat for a larger size.XXL

most technical long Parka on the market

First I'm an individual customer with a genuine review - I wanted a highly breathable warm long Parka to walk in NYC. Ski Jackets are very technical, they breathe so when you work up a sweat it escapes through the fabric. Walking in NYC, trust me, you're sweating, particulalry when you go in a cab or indoors. . You will see this jacket is rated 20k/15k . That means 20k rain and windproof, 15k breathable rating. The best ski jackets on the planet are maybe 26k/26k so this Parka is VERY good. The problem for me is ski jackets are too short - I wanted a mid thigh parka, this one in 39" center back length. This was the only one I found on the market. However, there was no mention of the breathability of the lining. There is no point having a 15k outer shell breathability and a regular polyester lining that doesnt breath. I contacted Haglof, even they had to search for this data but its a polartec liner in the upper area - this is the best breathable liner on the market. lower liner is taffetta which is also breathable. The insulation, Quad is also very technical and breathable. I did find a parka shell (no insulation, no liner, you need to wear a mid layer) but it was 3" too short. The big name brand parkas we all see people wearing..not waterproof and not breathable - . thats a $1000 to look trendy but sweaty - not for me and I dont want that stupid badge on my arm either
