For the constant-adventurer looking for a cold-weather piece that'll transition seamlessly from frigid days at the ski mountain to chilly multi-pitch climbing routes and back again, there's the Haglofs Essens Mimic Insulated Jacket. This versatile jacket features an innovative synthetic insulation that's designed to mimic the effects of down, while still maintaining the warm-when-wet performance that makes synthetics so reliable. The result is comfortable warmth that'll keep doing its job when you're caught out in heavy snows or unexpected rain storms.
Your insulation isn't the only thing that'll work hard in inclement weather—the Pertex Quantum shell offers wind and water resistance for those times when you're caught in potentially stormy conditions without a shell. Lighter rain and most snows will bead off of you as you move, which will be easier thanks to the stretchy panels along the shoulders. Articulated sleeves also help with natural movement, while the elasticized cuffs and hem seal in all of your warmth with a simple and low-bulk design.

Terrible Quality, Bad Customer Service

I took a chance buying this jacket 2 years ago. I normally go with the more established brands like North Face, Patagonia, Outdoor Research, etc, but decided to go with this Scandanavian brand for something different. The jacket has been fine in terms of warmth, but the material quality is subpar. It has now ripped in 3 different places, which might be excusable if I were skiing or climbing in this coat, which are not the case. This is just a daily jacket to the office. I contacted Haglofs customer service and they refuse to repair or replace, instead instructing me to take it back to the retailer I purchased it from. I have never heard another major outdoor brand doing this, and all issues I've had with Patagonia and others in the past were resolved with a direct replacement. Why is it the retailer's responsibility to bear the financial cost of replacement? Very disappointing that a brand will not stand by their own products. I will not be buying another product from Haglofs again, and do not recommend anyone else do either, because you will regret it if any issues arise.
