Dark Machine X Ice Axe

G-bone Carbon Composite is a proprietary blend of carbon fibers and other materials used in the construction of our ice axes. This material is crucial because it offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, making the axe lightweight yet incredibly strong. This is essential for climbers who need reliable equipment that won’t weigh them down during extreme sports like ice climbing.

Hot forged steel is created by heating the steel and shaping it under high pressure, which significantly improves its strength and durability. This manufacturing process results in a more robust ice pick that can withstand the harsh conditions of climbing, ensuring that you have a reliable tool when you need it most.

T-rated indicates that the ice axe has been rigorously tested and certified to meet specific strength and safety standards for technical climbing tools. Choosing a T-rated ice axe ensures that you are using equipment designed to handle the forces and stresses of extreme climbing, providing you with peace of mind in challenging conditions.

A modular ice axe allows for interchangeable parts, meaning you can customize your tool based on your specific climbing needs. Whether you need different picks, adzes, or hammers for various scenarios, a modular design gives you the flexibility to adapt your equipment, enhancing your overall climbing experience.

Adzes and hammers are attachments that can be added to the back of the ice axe to increase its versatility. An adze is useful for chopping or cutting, while a hammer is ideal for driving in pitons or other gear. Having the option to add these tools allows climbers to tackle a wider range of tasks and challenges during their climbs.

Yes! Our ice axes are designed to be versatile and can be used for various types of climbing, including ice climbing, mixed climbing, and alpine climbing. With features like modular components and the ability to add adzes or hammers, you can tailor your ice axe to suit different climbing environments and techniques.
