Perfect day pack

This pack is the perfect size for day hikes. Love the pockets on the hips. They are nice and large.

Well thought out day pack

This bag is comfy on my 5’5” frame. I have a hard time with packs hitting the back of my head because of my shorter torso. Great for short hikes with enough room for me the dog stuff. I love all of the quick access compartments for the essentials. The hip belt is comfy as well as the padding on the back. I love my hydration clip, the reservoir paired with this is a must! The hydration clip is a nice feature to just drop and hand your reservoir easily. For a small bag it has amazing organized storage. The accessory loops are great too.

I wanted to love it.

I have a Maya 16, which I love, so bought this as a replacement because I now need more room (I hike with 3 dogs). I love the fit and comfort and everything else about it, but was so disappointed when, after 2 hikes, the horizontal straps that go across the backpack straps were shredded by my water hose and bear spray on one side and a Garmin Inreach mini on the other. I have worn this configuration with my Maya 16 for years with no incident. Quality has gone downhill, or is this a faulty pack?

Happy with this pack

Pack is comfortable, the zippers work smoothly, and it’s a good size for a longish day hike. What I like most is the separate compartment for a hydration bladder. I have other packs that have a place to hang a bladder, but it’s a huge pain to cram the bladder into them, so if I’m using a bladder instead of water bottles, I take this pack.

Happy overall

I just got my Maya 25 and am happy with the quality. I like how the bag has some structure but is not rigid. I haven't actually worn it on a hike yet but around the house it feels comfortable. My initial thoughts are, I wish there was a little more cushion on the straps and the waistband pockets are a bit hard to reach while the pack is on. In my mind, when ordering, I imagined that the waistband pockets would allow me easy access to things while walking. However, they are quite a ways back and need to curve around my body. That means that my phone, though it fits, is hard to get in and out of the pocket while I'm walking. I take a lot of photos so was hoping I could tuck my phone away but be able to take it out quickly when needed. Realizing I may need to find another way. Overall happy with my purchase and excited to get some trail time in.

Great pack, a little better fit for shorter torsos

I got the pack because I wanted something with the support and technology of a hiking pack but the classic backpack look. So far I love it! Some favorite features- the water bottle pockets are stretchy enough to hold Nalgenes even when the pack is at full capacity which is great. No more struggling to get bottles in and out and having to take the pack off to wrestle with them. The pockets on the hip belts are a nice touch for a day pack and the stuff it pocket is nice and stretchy and holds a lot. The size and look of the 25 and the 20 are almost the same so if you’re torn between the two, I’d recommend the larger size for the extra room. The only issue I’ve had is with the length of the pack. I’m right at the max length the adjustable back panel adjusts to (5’9 tall, roughly 18.5 length) and sometimes the hip belt rides up. Still comfortable but if your torso is much longer or you might want to find a different fit. Overall a super adjustable, comfortable pack with a lot of well thought out features.

Wanted to like it but was disappointed

I have a Maya 22 that I love and was excited when the newer models came out. I bought the 25L for an upcoming trip to Spain. The back panel was different than the previous model but overall the fit was ok. The adjustable panel for the torso length is different than in the old 22 , shorter and it forms a bulge in the back that if not using a water bladder can be uncomfortable. The Velcro doesn’t stay in place long even when not fully packed. When using the pack every day this is a problem. The top handle started detaching on day 2. Maybe I got a defective pack, as my 22L is still going strong.

The Maya 25L will be my new go-to day pack!

I live in the PNW. This will be the perfect warm/ hot weather hiking day pack! At 25L, I find it has enough room for the 10 essentials, lunch (and extra snacks), and any lightweight layers that one might shed throughout the day. LOVE the multiple pockets and dedicated water bladder pocket, the stretchy front mesh pocket will be great for packing water sandals and the additional side pocket for carrying a sit pad! I went with the Iris Red. The colors are rich and vibrant, without being obnoxious. And with the adjustable toros length, fitting it for my body went smoothly.

Love this pack

I have been using this pack for steep 5-8 mile hikes with my dog. I got the new 3 liter Hydro water pack also which is much easier to me keep hydrated, and usually also bring dog treats stuffed in the front pockets, a dog bowl, snacks and extra clothes for changes in weather. It is really balanced and comfortable, no matter how much I carry. I highly recommend it. I hike a lot, and rough on my packs, So far it is really sturdy and solid.
