Why We Like The Baltoro 75L Backpack

Say we're traveling abroad for our backpacking trip. We're going to need some extra space for everything from traveling clothes to hiking clothes, warm layers and gear, and a good pair of camp shoes so we're not always stuck in our sweaty walking boots. The Baltoro 75L Backpack provides all the space we need to make it happen. This pack gives us ample storage space without sacrificing comfort for our multi-day trek. Because it's a bigger pack, Gregory adds an aluminum frame to stay stable and supported from the minute we step out of our hostel to the second we snuggle into our sleeping bag at the end of the night. Gregory's Response Auto Angle Adjust suspension system moves the LifeSpan EVA shoulder straps up and down the 3D AirMesh back panel for a customized feel that shapes to our back, and specific storage spaces for sleeping bags, poles, sunglasses, and electronics keep us organized from the first day to the last.

Most comfortable bag

This is definitely the most comfortable pack I’ve ever used. Held 45lbs evenly. Could feel the suspension doing its thing. Its a rather heavy bag. This will make an alright snowpack. There are good 55L+ options out there under 3lbs BUT youll lose all the comfort. And like I said this is the most comfortable bag I’ve ever used. I came from Osprey. The pocket organization is great and the water bottle location is the best. Wish there was a better way to stash trekking poles without taking off the bag. It has some squeaks too that can drive you nuts in quiet woods. My tent fits in the brain. No regrets adding this pack to my quiver and plan to utilize it for snow camping. Oh! Also! The bag I received looks totally different from the photos and the one you typically see online. I think its a new lineup. Update: after three weekend trips, the loaders squeak and creak so loud its unreal. I cant hear the nature or anything over the stereo lifters creaking away.

Comfortable Pack With Heavy Load

I purchased this pack to summit Mount Ranier. I did so with no break in period at >65lbs of gear in the bag and the bag performed exceptionally well. It also had several pockets and features to make everything within the pack easily accessible.

Comfy and versatile pack

Tried and true design. No tears, no zipper problems, distributes weight well, hip belt didn’t dig in.

Not the pack for me!

I thought I already revised the Baltoro 75 but must have missed it. Love the design, the features, etc. Don’t like the no rain cover and no summit pack or removable brain. Hated the wast belt integration and the squeaky plastic from where the harness straps connect to the pack. Others loved the harness and how it’s laid out, but for someone skinny with not much of a tush, the hip belt chewed me up compared the to the more traditional packs I have used historically. I’m hoping one of my boys can grow into it and not have the same issues, because design-wise, the pack is great in terms of exterior pockets, storage, interior space, etc. I would make one hip belt pocket fully waterproof also.

Overall ok- adjusting and comfort need work

Overall it's a nice pack with great features. It has everything you need for a multiday adventure in varied terrain. I've been backpacking for several years and owned other packs in the past and wanted to try Gregory. My reason for 2 stars is comfort, or lack there of.... Comfort and fit are critical and has been very challenging to fix. I'm 6'2", 220 pounds with wide shoulders. Shoulder straps feel to tight (close together)and don't conform (curve of the straps themselves) the way I've seen on other packs. When weighted, the shoulder straps fit becomes even worse. I've tried making plenty of adjustments, anything and everything I can adjust I have. With other packs, a few adjustments and away we go. The straps and hip belt both feel off. I can't get a comfort fit regardless of the endless changes to fit. When the pack is weighted down I am constantly re-cinching the pack so I end up having to make countless adjustments while on the trail. I really haven't had these problems with any other pack. Not sure if Gregory is just a bad fit for me but this was an expensive mistake.

Excellent Ride

The pack has a great frame that focuses all the weight to your hips. Very adjustable. Lots of room for storage.

NO DISAPOINTMENT HERE !!!

I can not express.how happy I am with this Baltoro 75 backpack . The team that designed this pack did a great job in comfort .For a large pack that can carry a lot of weight , If adjusted right you don't know the pack is on you . It has many other nice things about it as well. number of pockets, water proof material ,and light weight for its size. My hat goes off to Gregory. keep up the great work !
