Shoot down couloirs, stomp cliffs, and surf open fields of powder on your Gnu Klassy Snowboard. This freestyle all-mountain board is made for advanced riders who love to test their limits in and outside of the resort. And whether you enjoy building backcountry-booters with your crew or finding untouched snow, this board has got your back.
Designed for aggressive riders, the C2x camber-dominant profile is made with a tight-radius rocker between the feet combined with radical cambers out to the contact. This gives you more tip and tail control while still maintaining freestyle flexibility. And to give you notable performance in powder, the directional twin profile enhances its ability to float through deep snow and charge through crud with its stiffer tail. During winters colder months, the Magne-Traction edge-serration technology strategically places seven serrations along the edge to create exceptional edge hold an icy conditions whether it be groomed corduroy or frozen hips.

- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Ok so lets talk about what this board is and what it isnt. I originally wanted to get a Never Summer Aura but the side cut didnt work for my boot size as I was trying to size down. A gear head at Backcountry (Jordan?) suggested I go with this board which was similar and in his opinion better. I ride predominantly in Vermont with some occasional trips out west. Anything from powder to ice. I am a full mountain charger and i'm in the park only if someone forces me to go through it. I love fast groomers, tree runs, and hitting anything through the trees or natural features on runs. This is my first directional board which seems a bit overdue.
Pros- Holy shiz this thing is fast. Like I always was fast on a board but this took another level of attention to make sure I was riding it and not the other way around. This is an advanced board, you gotta know what youre doing. Its fun though and you will be charging hard on it. It cuts up ice great, it absolutely not only floats through powder but zooms through it. I was used to getting stuck but not on this. Fastest Ive ever gone through powder. I sized down from a 151 Libtech to a 148 on this board and lost no power or speed. Also graphics are killer and look snazzy.
Cons- I mean, if fast is a con, it could be a con. This board will get away from you and for the first time in years I caught some edges and took some falls. I can truly say after years of demos all over the world, I didn't know what unbridled speed was. Tree runs are just not the same. I guess that should be obvious, but I hadnt thought it out. Anything super tight is going to be challenging on this board, or at least it was for me. I had a hard time slowing down and adjusting to not being able to go switch for too long when I needed to.
If you're an advanced all mountain rider you're probably going to kill it on this board. Im looking forward to taming her.
