- Q & A
Easily my favorite slipper's ever.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I have had these for around two years. They are unbelievably comfortable and warm. I can wear mine outside in the dead of winter below zero to do a few chores outside and my feet stay warm. The wool molds to your foot shape over time and makes them even more comfortable. Your feet will sweat in them with moderate activities, but they do not stink from my experience.
The leather sole becomes very smooth and shiny making it crazy slippery outside if you step on snow and ice. So they should really only be worn indoors. My wife has the rubber sole and can wear them wherever and really loves hers as well. I sort of wish I had bought the rubber sole, so I might just get a second pair.
Defective out of the box
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I really want to love these slippers but the pair I bought was defective right out of the box. The sole was separating from the left shoe. It was separating right where the tag is sewn into the sole. Makes me question the overall durability and quality of these slippers. At $100 a pair I would expect more than this.
This was immediately obvious when I took them out of the box so I'm a bit disappointed with Backcountry that they even shipped these to me.
Then, when trying to return them I saw that I had to pay $6.99 to return a defective item. Even more disappointing. What the heck Backcountry!!?? Item arrives defective and you expect your customers to pay for return shipping?
I'm on chat with customer service wasting my time right now to get a free return label authorized for these. So I spent time ordering these, waiting for them and then getting a defective pair. Now I have to spend time on chat with customer service to get a free shipping authorization for something that's clearly your fault.
Really makes me question whether I want to purchase from Backcountry in the future. There are plenty of other similar shopping choices out there these days.
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Fit: True to size
These were given as a gift but I have gotten many texts of thanks for these comfy and cosy slippers. Perfect for kicking around the house.
I got these for my Mom and they have become her favorite slippers. I have a the slip-in version with a low heel and love mine too. As others have noted, they run small, so size up.
Do they run true to size?
They run a little small. I normally wear a 41 (like in Birkenstocks) and had to bump up to a 42 in these.
What kind of arch support do they have? Is there room in them to put an insert in for support?
Hi Kathy, the Glerups shoe line has a unique shape. Wearing them barefoot is recommended as they resemble a sock, forming to the shape of your foot. Since they are more form fitting, you might have trouble getting an insert inside. Most of their models have minimal arch support, but are known to be warm, snug, and comfy throughout the winter.
