I wanted to love these, but the most important thing I needed in a slipper was some support walking around the house, and these had none. Alas, they’re going back.

I must be the only person who does not like these slippers. I had been eyeing them for over a year and finally bought them for myself. I found them to fit true to size, I wear a women's 9, bought in 39 and they fit without socks but I think I could fit socks under them if I wanted to .They are warm but not overly so (no sweaty feet). However they were crazy itchy. I suppose I could wear socks under the slippers but for me that kind of defeats the point as I want something I can wear over bare feet (otherwise I would just wear socks by themselves). I will regretfully be sending these back, I really really wanted to love them but they are just not comfortable enough. I think if you usually wear socks under slippers these would be great.

    Gifting win

I got these for my dad for Christmas and they were a hit. He loves them and finds them incredibly comfortable. They’re definitely only for indoor wear and are perfect on hardwood floors.

I ordered the wrong size initially on these (41) and exchanged for a size smaller (40). The material is super soft and they are incredibly comfortable. Like other reviewers said, they are just wool and leather so the materials should age and last well. The biggest difference I notice is how lightweight and low-profile they are compared to most other slippers I have owned. I would say these run true to size, I just ordered the wrong size the first time around. I am a women's 9.5/10 and I went with the 40.

This slipper is made up of (1) a thick (1 cm or so) piece of perfect wool and (2) a sleek leather sole. Absolutely perfect.

I love these slippers. They keep my feet warm, but they breath, so they are not hot. I wish there was a little more padding. I am a true size 10 and the 43 was a perfect fit.

These slippers have reached the apex of Slipperdom. The natural fibers/wool blend is super cozy, has plenty of warmth, and breathes surprisingly well for being a thicker felt like shell. My feet stay warm and comfy but never sweaty, even when the fireplace is running full bore. If you get the leather sole, which I did, make sure to only wear these inside; don't go outside. This is not a negative, but just a reminder to wear/use the slipper for its intended purpose (which isn't to walk outside; only inside). Also, just something to be aware of, some of the fibers will come off inside the slipper; this will stop with time as you wear it in. Again, not a negative, just something to know due to the material being used. Make sure you reference the size chart. I typically wear a 10.5 and I purchased the 44's and they fit perfectly! I can't recommend these enough!

    Total comfort

Man, I received the shoe slipper as a gift from my lovely wife and couldn’t be happier. I slipped them on and didn’t take them off the entire day. (I didn’t do anything all day...) I was a bit skeptical about how they would retain heat but the wool not only keeps the warmth in but adds an extra level of comfort that was unexpected from generic ads. All slipper heads are missing out if you don’t own a pair of these!

These are super comfy and feel like they have a decent amount of padding in the sole. Best to be worn around the house, but I have taken them outside on several occasions to walk the dog in the neighborhood and have worn them all around the ski village. The soles are VERY slippery when wet AND walking on smooth floors (tile, wood, etc), so just be careful if you go trekking through the snow and then decide to stop by your local Starbucks. They keep my feet warm but not overheated. And they breathe very nicely. Definitely recommend trying out a pair for yourself!

My feet and I really love these. I got them after a pair of Sorels, while comfy, were just too warm with their fleece interior. These Glerups are fantastic - warm, but not HOT, soft, and cute. The felt may shed a bit, but it's nothing I've found bothersome. I think I will also buy a pair with the rubber soles, so that I can step outside in them if need-be. I typically wear an 8.5 and these fit great in a 39.

I love these slippers so much! They're incredibly comfortable and keep my feet warm without making them sweaty. I hate having to take them off to go outside! I'm a women's size 8 in shoes and I bought a 38. I would say they fit pretty true to size.

I have bought both Haflinger and Giesswein boilded wool slippers and even the fur slippers, Ideally with the soft sole. I was extremely impressed by the quality of the wool and thickness, and loved how the calfskin feels on my wood floors --- no slipping yet so comfortable. These feel as though they were molded to my foot, I wear a size 10 shoe and bought a 41-- perfect fit. I was worried as some say they run small, and thought if by chance they were too small, i could always go up a size and buy the from the Glerup's website a wool insole and put an arch support. But I really like how these fit, it is if they are part of an extension of my foot, i barely feel them as I walk, I love to walk barefoot, so wearing these is the closest to being barefoot. I am extremely thrilled with the quality and fit. The best slipper I have ever owned. They will be ideal for winter. Bought one for my beau, as well. Note: was amazed how quickly they got here, ordered in the afternoon, and were on my doorstep the next day. Backcountry is great.

I have had these for around two years. They are unbelievably comfortable and warm. I can wear mine outside in the dead of winter below zero to do a few chores outside and my feet stay warm. The wool molds to your foot shape over time and makes them even more comfortable. Your feet will sweat in them with moderate activities, but they do not stink from my experience. The leather sole becomes very smooth and shiny making it crazy slippery outside if you step on snow and ice. So they should really only be worn indoors. My wife has the rubber sole and can wear them wherever and really loves hers as well. I sort of wish I had bought the rubber sole, so I might just get a second pair.

    Defective out of the box

    Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I really want to love these slippers but the pair I bought was defective right out of the box. The sole was separating from the left shoe. It was separating right where the tag is sewn into the sole. Makes me question the overall durability and quality of these slippers. At $100 a pair I would expect more than this. This was immediately obvious when I took them out of the box so I'm a bit disappointed with Backcountry that they even shipped these to me. Then, when trying to return them I saw that I had to pay $6.99 to return a defective item. Even more disappointing. What the heck Backcountry!!?? Item arrives defective and you expect your customers to pay for return shipping? I'm on chat with customer service wasting my time right now to get a free return label authorized for these. So I spent time ordering these, waiting for them and then getting a defective pair. Now I have to spend time on chat with customer service to get a free shipping authorization for something that's clearly your fault. Really makes me question whether I want to purchase from Backcountry in the future. There are plenty of other similar shopping choices out there these days.

Do they run true to size?

They run a little small. I normally wear a 41 (like in Birkenstocks) and had to bump up to a 42 in these.

    >Rating:

What kind of arch support do they have? Is there room in them to put an insert in for support?

Hi Kathy, the Glerups shoe line has a unique shape. Wearing them barefoot is recommended as they resemble a sock, forming to the shape of your foot. Since they are more form fitting, you might have trouble getting an insert inside. Most of their models have minimal arch support, but are known to be warm, snug, and comfy throughout the winter.
