Protect your noggin, and your wallet.
Getting back into the swing of biking can be a pricey endeavor, full of overpriced gear that claims to shave weight, protect, or make you look cooler than the other gear. The Giro Vasona MIPS Helmet is there for those who have had enough with the gimmicks, and want solid protection that doesn't break the bank. It uses lightweight construction, and is loaded up with MIPS technology that you'd find in higher-end options, but opts for a more economical construction, and a one-size-fits-all approach to shave down the price for entry-level riders and seasoned veterans looking for a new helmet that won't break the bank.
The Vasona helmet is constructed with a polycarbonate hardshell that's constructed using in-mold technology with an impact absorbing EPS liner to soak up the energy from crashes, or your friend's wicked bushwhack when you're riding a little too close around a wooded corner. It features MIPS technology, short for Multi Directional Impact Protection, which rotates freely inside of the helmet to help dissipate and absorb hits from odd directions that could cause your head to bounce or twist. Against your noggin is quick-drying padding that pulls away the sweat, and a RocLoc Sport MIPS system —Giro's easy-to-dial fit adjustment, so you can get things secured in place with ease, even when wearing riding gloves. The helmet features 22 vents to keep you cool when the day brings on the heat wave, and reflective details to help you be seen when your ride takes a turn for the road.

- I returned this product before using it
- Runs small
- 5` 5"
This is supposed to be a "universal fit"... it doesn't fit a 5'5" female's head at all. So now I have to pay the $6 return fee to return it to Competitive Cyclist after their "free 2 day delivery" took 8 days to deliver the package in the first place. I won't be using this website again. Merlin Cycles in the UK is cheaper and ships in about the same amount of time, but without US taxes.

How much do you think it will cost you to return this to the UK?

- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
It's so comfortable and make me feel secure all the time! Breathable enough so my head never feel sweaty when I'm on a ride and really cool design, add to that the reasonable price and you got a really good deal overall

Can't beat it for the price
- I've used it several times
Helmet fits well due to adjustability. Not as bulky as other MIPS helmets.

First adult helmet for my S.O.
- I've used it several times
My significant other has taken a new interest in biking as an adult, so I was more than happy to buy her a good-quality helmet with MIPS protection -- I just hope she never really needs it! Unlike some other MIPs models, this one does not look to bulky when perched on the head. The helmet adjusts easily with the twist-lock mechanism at the back of the neck, and the straps are also easy to tighten/loosen. The chin strap is a single strip across both sides, so it tends to get pulled through to one side or the other, but it's no trouble to re-adjust before use.
