Firebird Bib Pant
FlyLow created the Firebird Bib with all-time storm days in mind. Those days where burning quads, frozen faces, and sopping wet outerwear start to pick off powder skiers one by one. The waterproof shell fends off sleet and snow, while articulated knees and the breathable softshell panel on the back are bootpack-friendly so you won't overheat during a quick hike. Whether you're sending it into Corbett's or snorkeling through blower pow in Hokkaido, the Firebird is designed to keep you dry and comfortable. Well, as comfortable as you can be until you send it a little too hard and tomahawk under the chair. That one's on you.

Very Strange Fit
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- L
- Height
- 6` 2"
- Weight
- 200 lbs
I'll echo most reviews here, the fit is very strange. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and wear a 35/32 pant and Large slim shrits. The torso on these was snug, definitely not something I'd be comfortable in all day. The bottom half in a Large were huge. These are well designed high end bibs (pockets, buckles, mesh back and fabric are top totch) but the implementation of fitting these to normally shaped humans is way off. I went with the MH Boundary Ridge in a Large.

The design of these bibs was well thought out. Material is also what I expected. Color was great! However, the legs are too full. The fullness is through the entire leg. Rise of the bib is on the shorter side. Get the fit right and this will be a great product.

Horrible fit
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought
- XXL
- Height
- 5` 11"
- Weight
- 220 lbs
Way too big in legs and too tight in waist/chest to wear anything under it. Unless you are a body builder with huge legs and glutes and a chiseled waist, these bibs won't fit you. I wear a 38 pant yet the XXL was too snug in the waist. Legs were roomy with no taper whatsoever.

Really Weird Fit

- Fit:

The top was extremely tight and too small based on the size chart dimensions and the legs were massively wide. They look great in the pics but the pair I got was no good, retuned immediately. Runs small up top and large on the legs

Not the fit for me
- Familiarity:

Provided these fit you, I am sure they are bomber in all conditions. My one gripe beyond the sizing is not having a side zip to get into them easier, but otherwise very well made, good pocket placement and very nice face fabric. The main problem for me was that they felt like wearing a corset on top and then 90's JNCO jeans on the bottom. I could imagine an XL would fit better around my chest, but then I would have sleeping bags hanging off my legs. Bad experiment. I went with the Mountain Hardwear Boundary Ridge in a Large/Regular and they are perfect.

Bad cut and design
- Familiarity:

- Fit:

- Size Bought
- medium
- Height

Was really excited to get these bibs, but was amazed at how badly they are sized and cut for fit. The bib section was really narrow across the chest, the crotch was to high and the legs were so baggy i could put both legs into one. In no way shape or form could these fit a normal shaped person.

No beacon pocket on these despite the advertising. Beacon pocket should have a hook/clip in it that you can clip your beacon on to. None of the pockets on these bibs have one. Resort wear unless you like wearing your beacon in its body harness.

Nice Product, Returning B/C too Snug
- Familiarity:

- Medium

Ordered this for my boyfriend and it was too snug. Medium was the right length for his height of 5'0-5'10", however it is tight around his chest and midsection. He is a tele skier and although these have decent flexibility, we might try a product with even more stretch.

Fits like a trash bag
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Fit:
- Runs large
- Size Bought
- SMALL
- Height
- 5` 8"
- Weight
- 155 lbs
If you want really baggy, falling off your body, pants, then these are for you. There is no tailoring whatsoever - while your legs tend to taper from the thigh to the foot, these pants just go straight down leaving your whole lower body looking like you are wearing a brightly-coloured trash bag. I wear SMALL, and I got a small, but it was just huge.

The Firebird bib is an amazing piece of equipment. I've worn it for two years now doing double seasons, and the durability is amazing. From Colorado to the Andes and Patagonia, this bib has kept me dry. The ventilation system is awesome for long/short hikes. The pockets are spacy, fully sealed, and of easy/quick access. Have not had any issues with the zippers. Overall, a great piece with outstanding durability to all types of weather.

I absolutely love these bibs!! I have put many hours into these bibs mainly for snowboarding and backcountry touring with my snowboard. The side vents are really awesome when it gets hot, and they are really easy to zip up ad down when its below 0 and when you have your gloves on. The last pair I had the zippers were waterproof like these but sucked when it was near 0 and you were touring for the whole day. The front pocket is really nice for phones and small camera gear (gopro) to keep warm or out of the elements when you are taking a breather from crushing it. The bigger front pocket is also really nice for gloves and hats when you are hiking or skinning. The only draw back to these bibs are that they are cold, there is no insulation in these bibs so you better but one more layer on your bottoms then you are used too. Even though they are super waterproof thy are also really breathable, besides boot packing and skinning I have used them during long steep winter hikes and mountaineering trips. Overall I would recommend these to anybody who wants to upgrade their pants situation.

I was coveting me a pair of Flylow bibs, but I read all the reviews about the weird fit of the women’s Foxy. So I ordered four different models! The firebird fit the best, and it looks like it’s one of the best for backcountry use. I have “athletic” legs and a curvy bum, and they all fit in there great. I followed the sizing guide and it’s much more true to size than the baker which runs big and has a weird fit in the crotch area. (And yes, the Foxy fits weird) Love the features - side zips, access for bathroom breaks, lots of pockets, thigh pockets higher than on Foxy, Velcro waist adjustment straps, more breathable upper.

The Best Bibs Ever
- Familiarity:

I got these for my husband and he wore them and the Flylow Baker bibs all season long and always stayed dry. He absolutely loved both. He liked these particularly because they are really breathable and a little lighter than the Bakers, which are really burly, almost like Carhartts. They are nice and stretchy with plenty of mobility and the outer fabric is soft. The fit is true to size. He has a 33" waist, is 175 lbs, and is 5'9" normally wearing a 30" inseam. The only complaint I have is that the thigh vents are on the outside of the pants instead of the inside, so if you are wearing boxers or underwear and not full long johns, the thigh vents are basically useless. He loves them and will wear them again this season and I recommend them. These are some of the best men's bibs on the market and should definitely be considered if you are looking for a great pair of bibs.

Way dope just not for bigger men
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Fit:
- Runs small
I bought these as a gift for my dad who is a bigger man. They were too snug in the mid section. He loved the style and the specs this product offers they were just a little too snug for him in the waist. I would say they do run a little small for sure. Great motivation to shed some lbs. for next ski season!

So Far So Good
- Size Bought

I haven't had these for too long. In fact, I've only logged 4 days in them as of now, but they've been great thus far! The bib straps are very comfy, and I like the pockets in the upper front part of the bib for storing my phone n stuff. The fit on these is exactly what I was looking for. It's relaxed, but not super baggy. For reference I had some Outdoor Research pants before these that were much tighter, especially through the thighs. The only issue I've run into so far is that the inseam is a very little bit too short for me. I went with a size Small since I am about a 31 inch waist. The waist is great, but the thing is I'm generally around a 31/32 inch inseam. The 29.5 inch inseam on mine winds up being just a hair too short. Honestly this doesn't bother me at all, though. It's really kinda nice that the fabric on the legs doesn't bunch up at all. I just wanted to point it out, because if you a very long/slim person you may have trouble finding a size that has the right combination of waist/inseam measurements. All in all I'm extremely satisfied with these, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a bib with a more relaxed fit.

Great features and fit, NO durability
I was stoked to try these out when I first got them. My very first day I clipped a stump coming down off a jump and they tore at the knee. This is fairly understandable and I thought to myself it was totally my fault. So I sent them back to backcountry for a replacement and they were awesome with the entire return. This is the second day I have had the new pair and the fabric got torn at the ankle after a mild day at the resort.

very pleased
So it was my first time buying a pair of bibs and I was worried about the sizing and all the reviews I did on bibs gave me a bit of mixed reaction. So I decided to just buy the size I would with my normal ski pant size and the fit is great. The bibs feel more on the lighter side and are very comfortable to wear. I've only wore the bibs once and they feel like they will hold up over time.

What are the male snaps for, that are on the waist front and back? I can't find the female snaps anywhere on the bibs; nor is there any printed information that I can find which states their purpose. Enquiring minds want to know!

Is the softshell fabric on the entire back of the piece (including back of legs), or only the area above the waist that is a different color?

Hi Eric! That softshell material is only on the upper bib section. The rest of the pants are made out of a 3-layer waterproof material.

Just an update: I went with the Smythes in small and absolutely love them. (A tad long in the body so I might have the straps altered, but otherwise very comfy and great performance)
