Compound Pant

From first tram after a wicked snowstorm to heli drops along formidable peaks, the FlyLow Men's Compound Pant is just what you're seeking for reliable waterproofing and breathability on the deepest days of the season. eVent fabric with Direct Venting offers proven protection from deep powder while breathing exceptionally well for optimum comfort when you're moving fast and skiing hard. Articulated knees promote full range of motion desired for skinning, skiing, and hiking for fresh turns.

Fully taped seams and YKK waterproof zips seal out moisture from seeping through and dampening your mountain experience. Powder skirt snap connectors attach to your compatible FlyLow Jacket for protection from waist-deep snow. Cross-ventilation prevents overheating when you're working up a sweat on fast tours and demanding bootpacks beyond the resort. 1000D Cordura cuffs prevent ripping where the pant is most susceptible to heavy wear. For functional carrying, four total pockets store your essentials on the mountain, and a dedicated beacon pocket carries essential backcountry safety equipment.

  • Durable hardshell pants for burly days in the backcountry
  • eVent fabric repels moisture while storm skiing
  • Direct Venting cools you down on the uphill
  • Articulated knees for hiking mobility
  • 1000D Cordura cuffs withstand wear from boots and ski edges
  • Beacon attachment system in the pocket

I never leave reviews, but this one was not true to size for me. I do see that the size chart would indicate a M for me, however I always wear a L in all clothing. I was surprised when I buttoned these up and they slid right off. My waist is about a 32-33 but my legs and butt only fit at least a 35 with pants so I have to size up. I will return and order the M. Otherwise these pants were great. Its hard to find a full side zip anymore and the beacon pocket is a handy feature I've gotten used to with my soft-shell pants. I have bib pants from Flylow in size L and they have a treated me well thus far. Hope this helps others.

2020 Compound Pant Video

Tough and air permeable. Our high end pant.

I'd like to give a shout-out to the folks at Flylow. These are great pants (I thought I'd reviewed them, but I guess not). I keep my skis ridiculously sharp and have damaged the cuffs on these and another pair. I sent them in to get them repaired and the cost for both totaled $30 including shipping back to me. Very nice.

Perfect pant for kicking uphills and flying downhill. The leg vents and breathability prevent me from getting sweaty on the up and waterproofing keeps me dry in deep and/or wet snow. The powder skirt snaps, that attach jacket to pant, gives me the protection that a bib would without having to futz with straps and layers. Also full-length outer leg zipper allows me to take the pants off while still wearing ski boots (perfect for gnar points ;) I'm 6'4, 190lbs, long-legged and the XL was a good fit.

I got the Flylow Compound Pants earlier this season (Large, Fernet) and have worn them skiing in the backcountry and resort virtually every day since. First off, they are comfortable and fit well - they're light, but still durable, not too baggy and not too loose. The pockets are well-placed and handy as a result. The vents are great - I love the inner leg and outter leg combo vents - when both are open, you can really dump heat. A hidden feature of the double leg vents is when touring in a windy storm... close the vents on the windward side of each leg and leave the others open so you can still vent without letting the weather in. The Event membrane is highly breathable on it's own, so when it's really cold out, you don't always need to use the zippered vents. Last but certainly not least, I enjoy supporting the Flylow brand, as they are a small company that inherently understands what their customers are looking for, because the co-founders are still out touring, skiing and biking just like their customers.

They perform perfectly. Just know that they run pretty baggy because they're designed to allow for the freedom of movement needed to telly.

Not quite long enough, otherwise awesome

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Gave these as a gift, and here's what he says: These pants are durable, have great waterproofing, and are non-insulated. The pockets are nicely situated for easy access because of their perpendicular positioning. This allows you to grab your snacks without having to pull out your wallet or letting anything else fall out. The one pocket has a key chain clip which is a nice addition, so you don’t lose your keys and ruin your ski day. The pants have reinforced lower boot cuffs. This is awesome for anyone who wants to use these pants for a few seasons. The cuffs are a thicker material which helps mitigate cuts front ski edges. Additionally, these pants have lots of venting. Perfect for a day of touring or inbounds bootpacks. At the resort, they are breathable but also keep your but dry when sitting on a wet chairlift. Lastly, the one issue I have as a 6’2” individual is that they aren’t long enough. I chose the “M” for the waist width, but I could use another 1” - 2” in length.

Durable, water proof, breathable, and well thought out. The cross vents are wonderful and they are just the right fit. Pockets are the right size and don't accidentally leak stuff out when sitting.

Warm Stylish Dry. Good pants, very durable, a guy said "nice pants" to me at Brighton the other day, I said, "thanks, they're really warm." So far no complaints.

Amazing Pants

This is an awesome shell for midwinter days. The material feels impenetrable, but still it is a very breathable pant. The pockets and air vents are intelligently designed. Best snow pant I’ve owned, I’m expecting to get three or four years out of it.

Only 4 years? These must be poorly made.

Sick Pant for backcountry or lift shred

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Can’t wait to sit on wet snowy chairlifts with reckless abandon this year knowing eVent will keep my butt dry. Fit is perfect I’m a large for me. I wear a 32x32 street pant, but I like my ski pants with some room. These are perfect and would fit a bigger guy than me no prob.

The Compound pant delivers. I have worn this pant in rain, snow, wind and slush and it is always comfortable and always keeping me dry and wind protected. The lightweight design makes it feel like comfy jeans while you are in the lodge or at the bar. The full side zips are ideal for long tours or just fiddling with your boots. My field jounral fits snuggly into the thigh pocket just below my beacon clipped into the left pocket. So far I have had no tears or wear on these pants and no degration of waterproofing. Feels like your favorite jeans, performs like the well designed tool it is.
