Just perfect

This is by far the best backpack I've ever had. I got it two years ago and it still looks like new. The compartments are cleverly laid out, the inner mesh pockets are just perfect, and the top pocket is safe and accessible. I love it.

Comfortable, durable, organized

I absolutely love this bag. Surprisingly, it feels smaller than what I'm used to, but it has better organization, and I can fit everything I need into a more compact space. As a math grad student, I need to carry my laptop, chargers, a couple of books, clipboard, paper, etc., and this holds it all easily. It's comfortable, and the material feels very durable. I plan to wax it regularly to waterproof it as I live in one of the rainiest cities (and sometimes the actual rainiest) city in the US. Got rained on with it my first day of having it, and it protected my papers, books, laptop and electronics just fine, though you should always take extra precaution and wrap your laptop in plastic just in case, as I do.

Almost perfect

Great bag, really durable and has a lot of storage. I only am removing 1 star because it can’t sit up on its own, the bottom is not flat.

Roomie but limited function

Got this two months ago for mainly for work, with the option to use in other activities. Lots of compartments and room for my laptop, accessaries, personal items like phone and wallet, and my lunch. Easy to organize items. The straps are cushioned but very stiff (may need more time to work in). I wish I noticed more closely it did not come with a chest strap or even an area to put one (unless I’m missing something). Major downer as I could have used this for trail rides on my bike. The side pockets for water bottles are roomie, but could use elastics as other reviews stated. Nothing has gotten wet so far, so I will take waterproof for the win. I regret buying this bag due to limited uses without the chest strap option (I will blame myself for that).

Very sturdy and strong

I got this to carry my heavy work laptop and other essentials … it has helped my back pain as it is very sturdy and supportive. The chest straps can be a bit odd if you have specific upper body anatomy but you can adjust them to a certain extent . Looks very classy as well

Yay, Pocket & Compartments!

I have used this backpack for one day, and I can already tell that it will be an all-time favorite next to my old State bag. This is my first Fjällräven. The simplicity of the Kånken was appealing to me, but I was concerned about not having pockets and compartments to organize all the things. The Räven has those and a sleek, minimal design. Its quality can be felt and seen. I went with the 28L because I often need both my laptop and tablet, 13” and 11” respectively. Mine is Deep Patina which, to my eye, is darker in person than the pics on the site.

Good bag bad for waterbottles

Great storage and lots of compartments. I am able to keep my laptop and iPad in separate compartments within the laptop sleeve and fit a book between them which is game changing as I travel for work constantly. The only con is that the waterbottle compartment have NO STRETCH and my water bottles constantly fall out if the bag is not upright :( if I had to choose a new bag again I wouldn’t choose this one for that reason

Disappointing purchase

Very disappointed with this purchase. The fabric is stiff and has no stretch.Padding on the straps is abrasive and uncomfortable.I suspect it will likely ruin my T-shirts fr chaffing when I'm out hiking.

Falling apart already

Been using that bag for about two years and it’s falling apart already! Not worth the price
