I scored my first pair of Fjallraven's at Sierra Trading Post a couple of years ago and, after countless days and miles, decided to pull the trigger on a new pair to prolong their life a bit more. I tried several styles on before choosing the Barents Pros, and like these best because of their fit, one color style (the Vidas and Kebs multi colorations didn't look great) and their durability. Since purchasing them, I've worn them everyday and really enjoy how well they stand up to everything I throw at them; however my two gripes with the pair I bought are that the longs are really long - I'm 6'4 and all limbs and still have to roll up the bottoms about 2 inches to keep from walking on them - and there's no back pocket. Sure they make up for the lack with four different thigh pockets to fit everything from your phone to a map, but I can't tell you how many times I've reach back for my wallet, noticed it isn't there, panicked for a moment, then realized I don't have a pocket at all. Other than that, the double knee features hold up as well as my Carhartts and I have plenty of room to move around in them comfortably.

FYI this is a new trend in clothing to leave pants in the longest factory length and the buyer is supposed to hem them on their own with a local tailor. I've discovered this with a few brands now. Fjallraven has several styles that come in a "raw length"

Love these pants, they're heavy duty yet light weight. Seems are awesome and the fit is spot on

Hey just curious, I'm your size, did the size 50 pant fit tight? I'm a 34" waist normally and I'm concerned a 33-34 might be tight. Thanks!

Got a pair of US 31 after referring the size chart. Finding it 1 size lesser than what it should be. This is my 1st G1000 fabric & am loving it.

These are great pants, just not for me. The material is great and I actually do like the longer length to be able to hem to desired length. I was not a fan of the fit. They are still a little loose around the ankles for my liking. I am a 30/31 waist and ordered the 46. Waist size fit very well.

FYI the first photo displayed is wrong

FYI - the first photo displayed above is actually the Barents Trouser and not the Barents Pro Pant. I made the mistake and ordered the wrong ones based on that photo. I'm sure BC.com folks will help me get the correct pants I was looking for. BTW I do have several pairs of Fjallraven pants and love them.

was excited to get something with fjallraven g1000. pulled them out of the box and besides the chestnut color(on sale), i noticed the weight- very light. fabric felt durable but light. if i was going on a trip and was worried about weight, i would try to get something in this material. Raw length doesnt bother me(whatever). stitching is too artsy- double and single stitches....why not triple stitch?articulated knees but no gusseted crotch? i thought it was a mid-rise, nope- low rise. i cant really complain for the $72 i spent but i wouldnt recommend. maybe their other pants are better..

Good for an 'every other day' pant

Familiarity:

I had to say I was very excited about this pant when I first received them. It is awesome they send them to you in raw length, especially for taller individuals. Just try them on, measure, iron, cut, fold, and zip em' though the sewing machine. They fit like a glove. I weigh about 220 at 6-1' ft. very comfortable and fashionable. But for true heavy duty work, these pants last about a month and a half before the fabric start to wear and tear through the double paneled knees and around the button. It also became un-stitched at the bottom of the utility pocket (lost my benchmade knife) where you can only store an averaged sized box cutting knife, and a tight fit for an i-phone. But honestly they fit really well, and looked great. I don't want to slam them but the fabric's durability can be better for the cost.

good pants, great for tall sizes

Fjallraven is solid across the board, and these are put together like you'd expect. Other reviewers've noted the long hems. You can tailor them, or just roll the cuffs, but it makes it possible for tall skinny blokes like me to get a nice fit. What I like about these, they look good enough (I got a solid color) to wear with a jacket to a meeting, and go from there to working on a stone job the same day -- can't ask for more. Couple notes: When they arrived they fit tight and I almost sent them back. After wearing a couple day they relaxed and fit perfect, and the articulated legs make for great movement. Wouldn't be my first choice to wear climbing, but for anything else they're great, and they're light for the rugged.

I really like these pants, although, colors and sizes were very limited. Also when I chose these particular pants, the picture I was looking at as well as the description of the item showed and stated that they had "a variety of pockets" with some pockets on each of the legs. What I received was a pair of un-hemmed pants (that wasn't a problem, I just hemmed them), that along with your 4 general pants pockets had but one additional but narrow pocket on the right leg. Fortunately my height of 5'9" didn't put the knees way below my actual knees like some shorter persons have reported. Overall they are well built, they look good, and perform well, however, I do feel that they are a little overpriced. I've given them 3 stars due to the fact that they are one inseam fits all, they came un-hemmed, I think they are a little overpriced, and the photo and description are a bit misleading concerning pockets.

I have worn these several times, mostly casual. They feel light, and I can move freely with the articulated knees. In the cold, the wax "tightens" up and they are even more wind resistant. The fabric has a sheen/shine to them, I just didn't expect it. The cut is very long, I could have 6" removed.

These are great for hikes, outdoor work or just everyday wear. Keep in mind they are raw length, they do come hemmed but at an inseam of about 37" which is a godsend for those of us in the taller crowd but also means those who are shorter will need to hem them at the appropriate length. The articulated knees offer a greater range of motion without feeling baggy.

I really like these pants, but I'm 5'5" and the fit is for someone a lot taller. The waist was a good fit, but the knee pads/articulated knees are way below were my knees actually are in the pants. It seems like Fjallraven tried to make a "one size fits all" pant for any height person with the "Raw length" however, the pants are not tailored to the body dimensions for your inseam size and it puts the knee pad and Articulated knees totally in the wrong spot for a shorter person like myself. Unfortunately I will be returning these for a different brand that tailors the whole pant according to size and height. What's even crazier is they charge $100 for a "One size fits most pant". For $100 I would expect them to be tailored to fit like a glove. Darn my vertically challenged condition!

Are these pants quiet or loud like snow pants?

The fabric in these is a polyester cotton blend, so it will not be as loud as snow pants which are primarily Nylon. But the weight of the fabric will cause it to make some noise.

What's the difference between Trouser and Pant? For example:Fjallraven Barents Pro Trouser and Fjallraven Barents Pro Pant.

The" Pants" have a pocket arrangement like a pair of jeans i.e. 2 front pockets, 2 rear pockets, and a small coin pocket. The "Trousers" have a far more elaborate set of "cargo pockets" on the side and the front of the pant legs and no rear pockets. Same fabric and articulated knees for both. Hope this helps.
