Sehr, sehr schade

Not durable
I bought these tights in November 2023 and they haven't lasted a year. My first hike, the pocket got snagged by a branch and created a hole. No problem, just a hole in the pocket. Other small snags from tree branches in the legs creating holes. Then going over deadfall, more rips. Can't really repair them out in the backcountry so the holes just grew. After 5 backcountry hiking trips in them they are no longer useable. Disappointed as I thought these would be durable and last much longer.

Disappointed in performance

I am disappointed in the performance of this garment for a one day hike on rugged terrain. I hiked the Dix mountain range in NY doing the loop. The pants suffered small holes in the side pockets and the threading on the main seam in the back is shredded and nearly gone. I was really excited to try these out and love the fit and comfort and dexterity I have in them, however the damage done in one day hiking through overgrown trail and sliding down huge rock on a cliff on my butt have made me concerned if they will last another hike before they are unusable. I assume other pants may not have faired as well on similar terrain. Wondering if I got a defective pair since the review on these are great. Would love to hear from the product management team.

Another reviewer noted this, and I should have listened. It is pretty rough on the skin, too harsh for me - itchy too. I also would note that they show every lump and bump, so if you aren't perfectly smooth, be prepared to highlight that. Otherwise they seem well constructed and durable.

Almost perfect if it wasn't for harsh inner seams
Everything is perfect except the inner seams around reinforcement areas. I'm nearly getting blisters. Is it supposed to be like that for such an expensive product? I kind of forgot this during the hike, but after a day spent in these leggings, I (sadly) know exactly where those seams are. Otherwise great features, fantastic fabric, perfect fit, true to size. I am 164, tights could be a few cm shorter. I usually wear M and M was a perfect fit.

Hardwearing and warm
My first pair of trekking tights - glad I went for these. I'm Uk16 and 6ft and find the Xl a perfect fit. The seams are very strurdy and the pockets well placed. Hand washed and air dried several times and holding up well. I like the knee and seat reinforcements, but a same coloured option would be good - as per another reviewer. Warm enough for wild Welsh winters. The fabric dries quickly and is hardwearing with big dogs and scrambling over rocks. The ankle hole seems tight, I'd say these are a "sit down and ease over the heel" legging rather than put on standing up and pull all the way on. A suggestion - Would Fjallraven consider printing the garment information inside the fabric instead of having itchy fabric labels? I have to carefully cut out the labels with a sharp knife, without damaging the seam, which I'm sure will end in disaster one day.

Not rugged enough
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I was expecting more rugged material, but these leggings are very thin except for the butt and knee patches. I can picture them easily snagging or ripping on brushy trails. I do like that they are thin enough that I don't think I will overheat in nice weather however. They run small! I recommend ordering a size up. The butt patch feels weird, like the waist band has fallen down below my rear end, but I will probably get used to the odd feeling after wearing them for a while. I ordered the green color so that the butt patch isn't so obvious, and I'm glad I did. It is very noticeable, but I bought these to hike in and not to win a fashion show. Overall, for the steep price, I was hoping for something a little tougher.

Love these tights!
I tried these on a couple years ago and was in between sizes and couldn't make them work. I decided to give them another go and I'm SO happy I did! The green color is amazing and they're sooooo helpful on rocky hikes that require scrambling or hikes in the rocky hills of Utah where you have to slide down on your bum. Plus, I don't think there are cooler looking tights out there. The fit is *chefs kiss*. For reference, I'm 5'5 and 175lbs (for once gaining weight turned out to be a positive thing??)

Disappointed in the overall quality
I bought these from the website in April 2022. I used them almost daily for walking my dog this spring since they have handy thigh pockets and are very comfortable. I love them, however even with following care instructions some holes have already started to wear in the waistband, which is not a high friction area. In addition, for some reason the stitching on the calves started to undo. Disappointed in the overall durability and fabric quality. For the price I expected that these would last.

Not for the summer
I bought these tights for a 6-day backpacking trip in Glacier NP in July and they were just too unbearably hot. Temps were in the mid to high 80s and I am typically run cold, so I hoped the breathability would be adequate. I'm extremely glad I packed a pair of shorts because these went into the bottom of the pack after a few hours. Maybe these will work for a spring or fall trip. They also have a tag in the worst place on your hip -- rubbed me raw.
