Hardwearing and warm

My first pair of trekking tights - glad I went for these. I'm Uk16 and 6ft and find the Xl a perfect fit. The seams are very strurdy and the pockets well placed. Hand washed and air dried several times and holding up well. I like the knee and seat reinforcements, but a same coloured option would be good - as per another reviewer. Warm enough for wild Welsh winters. The fabric dries quickly and is hardwearing with big dogs and scrambling over rocks. The ankle hole seems tight, I'd say these are a "sit down and ease over the heel" legging rather than put on standing up and pull all the way on. A suggestion - Would Fjallraven consider printing the garment information inside the fabric instead of having itchy fabric labels? I have to carefully cut out the labels with a sharp knife, without damaging the seam, which I'm sure will end in disaster one day.

Not rugged enough

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was expecting more rugged material, but these leggings are very thin except for the butt and knee patches. I can picture them easily snagging or ripping on brushy trails. I do like that they are thin enough that I don't think I will overheat in nice weather however. They run small! I recommend ordering a size up. The butt patch feels weird, like the waist band has fallen down below my rear end, but I will probably get used to the odd feeling after wearing them for a while. I ordered the green color so that the butt patch isn't so obvious, and I'm glad I did. It is very noticeable, but I bought these to hike in and not to win a fashion show. Overall, for the steep price, I was hoping for something a little tougher.

Love these tights!

I tried these on a couple years ago and was in between sizes and couldn't make them work. I decided to give them another go and I'm SO happy I did! The green color is amazing and they're sooooo helpful on rocky hikes that require scrambling or hikes in the rocky hills of Utah where you have to slide down on your bum. Plus, I don't think there are cooler looking tights out there. The fit is *chefs kiss*. For reference, I'm 5'5 and 175lbs (for once gaining weight turned out to be a positive thing??)

Disappointed in the overall quality

I bought these from the website in April 2022. I used them almost daily for walking my dog this spring since they have handy thigh pockets and are very comfortable. I love them, however even with following care instructions some holes have already started to wear in the waistband, which is not a high friction area. In addition, for some reason the stitching on the calves started to undo. Disappointed in the overall durability and fabric quality. For the price I expected that these would last.

Not for the summer

I bought these tights for a 6-day backpacking trip in Glacier NP in July and they were just too unbearably hot. Temps were in the mid to high 80s and I am typically run cold, so I hoped the breathability would be adequate. I'm extremely glad I packed a pair of shorts because these went into the bottom of the pack after a few hours. Maybe these will work for a spring or fall trip. They also have a tag in the worst place on your hip -- rubbed me raw.

The best of all worlds

These tights are the perfect combination of light, breathable, and build for sweating - plus burly where you need it on the knees and butt. If I had to pick just one pair of Fjallraven tights, these would be it.

Almost 5 stars!

I have been looking for THE PERFECT HIKING TIGHTS and these are almost those IF the color of the re-enforced knees and rear was the matching color as the material used for the tights. The different color screams, "Look at my rear!" and I hate it. However, I'm keeping the tights -anyway- because I'm hoping my backpack will mostly cover my rear. Please, please consider this fix and let me know. I'll be the first to buy a pair. Or two!

Not An Improved Fit From the W

I was excited to try these after trying the Abisko Trekking Tights W, hearing the fit had improved. Alas, this was not the case. I love the reinforced knees and solid stitching, but the gusset and crotch point are totally wrong. It's like the designer had his entire idea of a women's anatomy described over the phone as he went through a tunnel. The triangle gusset is sewn in the back by the rear panels! I'm a small gal (5'1", 110lbs) and the camel toe effect was so extreme as to make these unwearable in sizes xs, s, and m, the latter 2 being extremely baggy everywhere else. For this price point, I'll take lululemon or athleta and miss out on the reinforcement. At least I can wear those in public.

Make these into shorts!!

I love these leggings!!! I have walked 110 miles in these pants so far and they are perfect. They are durable, hold shape decently, are breathable, keep you warm, and keep you cool. I wish these were shirts for the summer. That butt fabric is awesome!! I sit on the ground all the time and that fabric keeps me nice and dry!! Kudos Fajllraven!!

So comfy!

I sat on the fence for many months debating whether or not I should order these trekking tights. So happy I did! I love the fit and they are super cute on! Pockets are functional and sit in the just right place. For reference I am 5'5,weigh 130lbs and am a thin atheletic build. I ordered a size small and they fit perfect! Love the indigo blue!
