Velcro is poor quality
Loved the fit and the concept. The Velcro doesn’t last at all, had to use zip ties to keep them tight. The soles outlived the shoe by a long shot

My favorite MTB shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite five ten shoe. The grip is fantastic and I appreciate the ankle protection. Fits true to size. Wish the protection was on both sides.

Good at keeping the dirt out.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems like a good riding shoe. I figured I would give these a try. I wanted a shoe that would keep the dirt out of the shoe and it does.

Love how it fits, but doesn’t last very long.
The Velcro does not last. I had to retire these shoes because the Velcro failed before the soles of the shoes. Definitely a bummer.

10/10 would buy and reccomended.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the simplicity of getting them on and the three Velcro straps that keep them tight! Great MTB shoe choice for sure! Fight snug against angle and have protection built in.

Five Ten Freerider PRO MID VCS mountain
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Was looking for a flat pedal shoe with either a BOA or Velcro closure. Tired of having my shoelaces chewed up by my front sprockets. The Five Ten Freerider PRO MID VCS mountain bike shoes hit all the checkpoints except I found it hard to get my foot into the built-in sock. Otherwise it was a good fit and gripped the pedals as firmly as the Five Ten’s I currently ride with. Unfortunately after a several tests to insert my foot into the shoe, found this just too much of an aggravation and returned the shoes. For those who do a lot of gravel riding this likely be a winner for you. However, for me who uses his gravel bike almost exclusively on the asphalt, the socks are superfluous. Still waiting for Five Ten to make a purely flat bottom shoe with BOA or Velcro closure.

Improved my MTB experience instantly
Grip is outstanding. Nice solid feeling base really helps you drive into the pedals and supports your foot massively on drops and tough terrain. The velcro allows you to apply extra pressure exactly where feels best for you, and the sock closure helps the shoe sit closer to the ankle so its snug; no heel slip at all. Solid, robust upper constructed of premium materials/techniques, yet no heavier than your average trainer/sneaker. Absolute beast of a shoe! I honestly wouldn’t want to ride anything else. Hoping the velcro holds up long term, it seems like its high enough quality to.
