    So tiny!

I haven’t used them yet, but I wanted to bring up sizing. I’m normally a size 6.5 and after reading reviews, I decided to order up two sizes and get an 8.5. They arrived and still were painfully tight in the toe area. I’m wearing the 9.5! I don’t understand their sizing, but definitely try them on before buying.

Brand new but not for long

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So far the shoes are great. I bought these alongside the Evolv Shakra and found the other reviews to be true. I had to size up a full shoe size in both. The biggest problem I have had in sizing shoes is the toe box. There's no way you could classify my foot as "high volume", but any shoes that fit my toes would leave dead space in the arch. Not sure how they managed it, but Evolv found a way to fit both.

Believe the reviews, these guys run small. I never had to size up in a climbing shoe before, but I'm glad I gave it a chance.

      Gave these to the gf

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My gf has low volume feet and after trying on 20+ pairs of climbing shoes, was finally able to find a pair for her that had a good fit and no extra space around the mid section of the feet.

      Comfortable solid intermediate shoe

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these to use at the gym for warming up on top rope. I'd say they're an all around solid early-intermediate shoe – sticky rubber with slight edge compared to a flat shoe - and very comfortable for the style. On harder climbs I switch them out for more aggressive shoes.

However, I do think they wore out a lot faster than other shoes. My partner bought the Sportiva Oxygyms at the same time; we use them about equally and my Evolvs are worse for the wear after a year. Even though they are synthetic I feel they stretched out a tiny bit, but not as much as a leather shoe, so just make sure the initial fit is tight but not cramped.

So disappointed. These are super small. I ordered a half size larger than my current Scarpa and I can’t even get my foot in. I read all the reviews and tried to figure out. Then I chatted with the help who told me to order a size or two down from my street shoe. I told her based on the reviews that there is no way that would work. So definitely don’t recommend the chat option I will not even be guessing on a size for these. Back they will go.

        runs small

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I returned these shoes for another shoe and size before I used them. Remember when ordering these guys run about 2 sizes small. These are one of the few climbing shoes that are totally synthetic.

        Trust Your Toes

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Scooped a pair of these up for my girlfriend and she says: "I am an intermediate climber that got into the sport last summer and these shoes have given me the confidence in my ability. These Evolv Kira Climbing Shoe are extremely tight and leave indents on my feet but that is how climbing shoes are supposed to fit (I think?). The soles have an amazing grip on all sorts of rock types so you can really wedge into cracks. I tried the lace up La Sportiva climbing shoes because they were overall more comfortable but took too much time to take off when I was done climbing. I'm glad I made the trade-off"

        Great shoe, Wrong Size

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
        • Fit: Runs small
        • Size Bought: 9.5
        • Height: 5'9"
        • Weight: 180lbs

Loved the look of this shoe but since its the women's version it is very narrow. I read/watched many reviews and decided to go with my street shoe size (9.5)... it was about 1/2 size too small for my right foot, and a full size too small for my left. I tried my hardest to make them work but the pain was too much. I ended up returning these and am awaiting the arrival of the men's version, the Kronos. Love the lower volume heel, I have had problems in the past with my other shoes where it rubs weirdly and causes a hot spot. The tongue and closure system is also really nice.

I would definitely recommend this product but I would also recommend finding a retailer to try them on in person so you don't have to go through the dance of returning and purchasing to find the right size like I currently am.

        Too small

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

You will want to size up on these. I'm a size 7 in a regular shoe and bought the size 7 evolv. I couldn't wedge my foot into the shoe, haha! This shoe is great in quality and function just size up! Also, the color of the shoe is even better in person.

Update: I ended up trying out 3 different sizes. As I said before, I am normally a size 7. I ended up getting an 8.5 and have worn these quite a bit trying to stretch them out. They kill my feet after one climb. I feel that Evolv really missed the mark on the sizing for these shoes! I have worn other Evolves in the past and my sizing was on point. What the heck is up with these shoes?! That being said... Go up TWO full sizes when you order these!

        Great fit

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: Runs small
        • Size Bought: 9 (40)
        • Height: 5'5"

I wanted something a little more aggressive than my original Scarpa Helix shoe but not too much. These fit really nicely and accommodate my morton's toe. Was recommended la sportiva by friends but they just don't fit my feet right. I wear an 8.5-9 sneaker and got a 9 in these. A little tight on my right foot since it's bigger but perfect fit on my left foot. Hoping the right one stretches a tiny bit. The rubber is nice and sticky and I have much more confidence on the small foot holds now whereas I was slipping off of them before (and not because of poor footwork).

EDIT: These are too small. I thought they'd stretch but they haven't stretched one bit. I got mine from REI so I will be exchanging them for a 9.5

        Nice Shoe

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: Runs small

Pretty nice shoe, but they do run small. I had the chance to demo a pair and, although I didn't get them, they're very nice.

        Rad beginner/intermediate shoe

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Height: 5'3"
        • Weight: 150lbs

Overall they are pretty rad shoes! I ended up going up quite a few sizes compared to the La Sportiva's and have since stretched them out a bit with the soaking technique and continual wear. The rubber is nice and I love how easy the velcro system is. One thing they could be better at is overhang. I wish the rubber was a bit stickier for some of the overhang routes and bouldering problems I work on. I will probably end up getting a second pair of climbing shoes that are meant more for that purpose.

However if you are starting out and can tolerate a bit of a down turned shoe right off the bat then these are pretty great to start with or get as an early intermediate level climber.

I haven't tested them outside yet as weather has been bad but that will be coming up soon. If they perform better or worse than what I have written here then I will be sure to update.

Materials have held up very well through wear and tear at the gym and have relaxed enough that I can now wear them most of the time without having to switch into a belay shoe.

        Ready to go!

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: Runs small

Got these shoes as a gift for a friend and she loves them. They are an amazing all around shoe. They are easy to get on and off and not to mention the color is super cute. However if you are looking for an aggressive shoe then I would not recommend this. This is a great beginner to intermediate climbing shoe. Good for Top Rope or non over hanging boulders. I'm an evolv girl at heart and so I love the thick sticky rubber on all evolv shoes and this one is no exception. If used as recommended you will not wear through these shoes quickly. These are a great starter shoe and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for quality and great function. They do run a tad small so be sure to order a half size up! My friend wears a size 9.5 street shoe and she got a size 10.
