Summer Pass 3 Tent: 3-Person 3-Season
It can get awfully stuffy inside a tent when you're sharing it with two of your buddies in the summer. Air things out with the breezy Eureka Summer Pass 3 Tent. Designed for a comfortable night's sleep in warm conditions, this backpacking tent boasts an easy set up and cooling ventilation to keep everyone happy and well rested on weekend backpacking trips. The clip-in and stake-out assembly up makes setting up camp quick and easy, and thanks to the two-door, two-vestibule design, everyone has enough space to store their gear. More importantly, multiple exit options provides less clambering when early risers get up to cook breakfast.
The no-see-um mesh walls keep out bugs and gnats while promoting cooling airflow, and an adjustable roll-up door on the rainfly ensures that the breeze can get in even when the fly is up. It can also be propped up as a canopy by using your trekking poles when you're searching for some much-needed shade. Three internal pockets and a gear loft keep important items close by in the night, and an included footprint adds durability to the tent's floor to keep it going through many more wandering adventures.

A Roomy Tent For One or Two People
I have only yard camped to try this out; it packs very compact and is lightweight, easy to assemble and to take apart. The tent is well constructed and is very airy for camping in Florida summer nights if you have clear weather and leave the fly off. With the fly on there is plenty of air flow while keeping out the elements.

Manufacturing issue
The tent arrived on time, but one of the poles was 20” shorter than the rest. I contacted eureka and expert voice. Eureka sent me new poles, but they would not be here by a camping trip I had planned to use the tent for. It seems like a great tent. I’ll just have to use it on another trip.

Fast set up, great features!
This tent is ideal for my son camping alone or sharing the tent with me or one of his buddies. Two vestibules make it convenient for storing your gear, especially in humid environments. Full mesh walls and ceiling make for a comfortable night with the large amount of ventilation. The wide entry way on both doors allow for easy in and out of the tent. Take down is quick and simple. Its lightweight design makes for a comfortable hike from the truck to the campsite. It’s also easy to strap on to your backpack. You can’t mess up on the set up with the color coded system. Even still, crossing the colors will allow for the rain fly to install and operate the same.

Roomy tent for 2 Adults and maybe a small child.
This is my 2nd Eureka 3 man. The first lost it’s waterproof coating after 9 hard camping years. The pass 3 is similar in size, weight and design . I feel it is harder to set up. The older model had 2 separate poles where as the pass 3 has one modular pole system that connects to a center hub which adds more weight and complexity to the tent. Also the plastic tab on the center hub that attaches to the peak of the tent was already broken. The fly and tent guy lines are not easily tied to the same stake like my older tent was. Also, the floor saver does not extend into the vestibule area to add as a external floor covering to store gear on under cover. I would not recommend this as a backpacking tent unless shared by 3 people who also share its weight of 6+ lbs amongst each other. I set this tent up once but chose to Re waterproof and bring my 41 year old Eddie Bauer 2 man tent and shed that extra 4 lbs of weight. I would only recommend this tent for truck camping for young couples with one small child.I believe it is a very durable, comfortable tent for light Truck camping or for Scouting camps.

Great product and customer service
I purchased this a month or so ago but unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to use it. I have however set it up and checked it out and I am extremely impressed with the summer pass 3. I will update this review in the future when I am able to a thorough review.

Great little tent
I have had this tent for a few months now and have been able to get it out on two different trips and a couple of backyard testing ventures. I bought this tent hoping to use it for car camping with my wife and dog, and hoping it would be light enough for some short backpacking adventures. The size is adequate for the three of us (60 lb dog), perfect for just the two of us (me and wife, or me and dog), and is downright roomy for a solo venture. The design is so that it allows for extra headroom, which is accomplished by the use of an extra pole and a somewhat difficult to get used to zipper configuration (more on zipper later). The pole and tent set-up is very well thought out and is easy to set-up with one person. Thank-you Eureka for including a ground cloth! I don't know why more makers don't follow your lead there. After my limited use, it appears to be very durable and has kept me dry in moderate rainfall. Pitched once at 10K feet in moderate wind and performed great even without adding guy lines. There are a couple of things I have found that were less than perfect for me and both are definitely livable issues. The first one is the color coding in combination with the rain-fly. If one follows the color coding as directed then you might end up with the bigger vestibule on the side you did not plan for. After taking everything up and rotating 180 degrees, I realized I could have ignored the color coding and just set the fly how I wanted. I've done this a few times since and I have not noticed any issues. Second, in order to accommodate more headroom the zipper is quite difficult to get used to. Most of my experiences have been with zippers that are in the same plane, this one requires a zig-zag motion at the apex (where Eureka has given us more headroom). At first I thought it was going to be a game changer for me, because I kept thinking the zipper was getting stuck. I allowed it multiple uses before making a final decision and have come to learn that after a few times using, the brain must get used to the different motion. Day two of a four day outing and I had forgot all about it, but the whole trip I appreciated the extra headroom. This tent has so many positive things about it, plenty of storage, versatility (can be set-up with just ground cloth and fly), ease of set-up, and decent weight for it's size. I would recommend this tent to anyone looking for a good 2-3 season tent.

Great features, value!
I finally had to replace my good friend Eureka 2-man Backcountry. I wanted more room and updated features and looked at the Summer Pass 3. Great choice. With two doors and vestibules it offers plenty of room but at a good weight. The full dome coverage provides great poor weather protection. Set up is easy, but set it up in the backyard before hitting the trail and not being rained on. The main tent is a conventional symmetrical hexagon while the fly sets up to a specific orientation. Once you do a full practice set up-you got it. For a 3-person, 2-door, 2-vestibule tent you can't do better for the price.

Do you have a question about this product?

I think there might be an error on this page. It says that the floor space for this tent, the Eureka Summer Pass 3 Person, is 29.3 sq ft--but on the Eureka website it says that it is 42.8 sq ft.
