Desert Canyon Tent - 6 Person 3 Season

For weekend car camping adventures, ditch the cramped discomfort of your backpacking tent in favor of the luxuriously spacious Desert Canyon 6-Person 3-Season Tent. Thanks to its vertical walls and high ceiling you and your group get to enjoy an unbelievably spacious cabin-like set up for family camping trips, summer music festival outings, or as a homebase for longer climbing adventures.

Designed to withstand wind, weather, and unruly children, this tent's resilient fabrics are ready for whatever the weekend throws at it. Its no-see-um mesh windows and roof ensure the interior stays comfortably cool through muggy summer nights, while extended eaves prevent rain from getting in when the weather takes a turn for the worse in the middle of the night. It's also compatible with Eureka's Camp Comfort Sleep System-equipped pads and bags to keep everyone from tossing and turning in their sleep. Not to mention, you can set this tent up with just the frame and fly to act as an open-walled sunshade for tailgate parties or backyard barbecues.

Decent but big with lots of unused space

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

This is a high sided tent. So you’re trading a lot of vertical space for some wind stability. It has great ventilation, but requires the rain fly be installed because the fly adds to the stability. We used this on the open plains and it was very sketch in high winds. Its not terrible, but I’d find a lower, multi room, tent for family camping instead of getting this.

Perfect tent for a family!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

We've used this once, but I'm so impressed with this tent overall that I'm writing a review now. It's BIG but manages not to feel like a monster tent after it's set up. We have an infant and we needed something that would fit us comfortably plus our baby's Pack n Play with room to spare, and boy was this ample. We even through some rugs down! Practically glamping! We love that we can stand up in this tent, because sometimes a baby needs a bounce, you know? It was also pretty easy once we got the hang of it to put up and take down. Don't forget to buy the tarp footprint for this tent!

I recently purchased this tent and used it for the first time on a family camping trip. All in all, I was pleased with it. But why are there open gaps at the bottom corners of the two mesh windows? Is this the intended design? Seems like it's asking for bugs to get in.
