Comfy after some work, love Hoji walk

I've used it several times
Size Bought:

This boot is awesome. It fit pretty good out of the box but with a little work for my bunion buddy it fits great. Very comfortable for longish days. They are a little heavy for the longest and furthest days, but with a true 120 flex they feel stiff and I feel confident in them. I am considering getting rid of my in bounds alpine boots and only having these and a pair of lighter boots for bigger tours. Hoji walk transitions like a dream. Overall love the boot but I'll probably replace the liners next season as they are a little thin for my liking.

Amazing boot!

The combination of tech in this boot between the lock system and the flex not usually seen in a AT boot makes it best in class!

Top notch touring boot!

These boots are about the closest I've found to perfection. I have short, wide 27.5 mondo feet. Despite their 103.5mm last I still had to give these things a mild punch on my bunion, but that's where the complaints end. They ski like a true 125 flex (maybe just a smidgen softer than my 130 hawx primes), and are significantly lighter with a far superior walk mode. I can confidently drive my car around a crowded lot with these things unstrapped. Also worlds easier and less painful to get into and out of if you have a high instep. The Hoji switch is the real deal for quick touring/skiing transitions. I love how the ankle ratchet strap really locks your heel into place. This is primarily a touring boot, not an inbounds Alpine boot, but it's still capable of driving my 188cm/110mm j skis in heavy PNW "powder". In form resort conditions their light weight definitely gets a little skittish, but that's not really their purpose anyway. Overall, the best, most well thought out touring boot for wide feet I've ever stepped into.

Perfect Fit

The boots are incredibly lightweight and still stiff enough to ski the most challenging terrain. Also, I have a normal foot shape and they fit right out of the box.

Always makes a great product

A great set of boots from a company that knows AT/randonnee. Just note that the footbed may potentially be a little wide for narrower feet. Also I have experienced snow build up in the front metal lugs as have others which can mean that the AT binding does not fully grip the boot. It may be a good idea to carry a nylon brush or the buckle of a voile strap in case you get ice build up in the boot lugs, or insert the boot into the front of the ski first (with the back of the binding rotated to walk mode) and swing the ski for our five times to make sure the front pins are properly seated into the boot lugs. Other than that, top quality.

Low faff, High Performance

I have used the Radical Pro professionally as a backcountry ski guide, and also as my go to everyday boot. The fit out of the box was pretty good, however after a little bit of bootfitting these are the most comfortable boots for backcountry skiing I've used (for my feet). The heel hold is great, and the ankle strap really holds my foot in place for walking and skiing. However, when my feet swell a little on bigger days the larger toe box is still comfortable. The R.O.M is great and quite low friction. So after I set up my boots in the morning I pretty much dont touch them for the rest of the day. This is a game changer especially when you easily get cold hands, as you have to fiddle with less (cold) metal parts!

Best AT Boots, Ever!

Greast fit; no heat molding needed for my average foot. They work so well in area... only need this one boot for all the skiing I do. I cruise, ski powder & moguls, too, & they do it all! Plus, they are the best walking area boots you can buy. Simply worth every penny & then some!

Standard design, low lean angle, bad liner

In 8 years i went through 6 different (3 different brands - scarpa, scott and dynafit) models of touring boots, this ones were not any different to the others, same problems. Needed to thermoform the shell. The original liner is bad, it has shrunk after thermoforming, it went from 27 to 26.5! The boot is quite stiff which is good but for me the lean angle is to low, 11 degrees seems to be a bit not enough for me. I skied last 5 seasons with dynafit vulcan where the lean angle was 15 & 18 i think, 15 was my preferred setting. A part form this this is pretty standard design.

Do it all touring boot

Very happy with these boots, good mixture of lightness for the way up, while having a great downhill performance, very responsive. The Hoji lock system works great, set up all the buckles and strap for skiing at the parking lot, then just shift into walk mode. It has a great range of motion, the only problem is the walk-ski shift is very stiff to put into ski mode. A bit wide in the heel after breaking it in, but all in all a great ski touring boot that does everything.
