Kid Comfort Pro Carrier
From long day hikes to foreign city travels, you need a system with bells, whistles, and plenty of cushioning. The Deuter Kid Comfort Pro Carrier offers all the long-day comfort and convenience of the Kid Comfort, with additional features such as an included sun shade, high back seating, and a detachable rear-view mirror for staying face-to-face with your little tyke. Fully adjustable shoulder straps, hip belt, and torso length allow either parent to wear the pack, with load adjustment straps for dialing in a balanced outing. The integrated daypack is perfect for baby's daily needs, and can be attached to the chest straps for easy access en route. Two grab handles and a sturdy aluminum frame keep it easy to maneuver when it's not on your back, and it's equipped with a locking kickstand so it can be set down.
The Kid Comfort Pro Carrier features Deuter's Aircomfort Sensic Vario System, with padded comfort and mesh ventilation for both you and the babe. Ergonomic cushioning lets your little one nap easily during outings, with a pillow for extra napping comfort, and mesh panels strategically placed to help wick moisture away from your back. The new safety harness system uses color-coded buckles for straightforward operation, with side access if kiddo wants to climb in all by themselves.

We’ve logged quite a few miles with this pack, it’s fantastic! My daughter loves it, it seems comfortable for her and is super comfortable for me. It may be on the heavier side but it’s worth it as weight is distributed very well and is incredibly comfortable. Nice storage and easy on and off

Active Mom Essential
- I've put it through the wringer
This could be long so I apologize in advance, I feel if you are reading this you are actively trying to understand if this pack is worth the money and I want to give you all of the information. I have done a ton of research regarding child carriers and now with the addition of this pack I own three very different styles. I can say that my ring sling and soft carrier (ergo-esq) worked while my child was younger and not mobile but he is now at an active age where he wants to see and be involved (not inward facing). This bag allows him to see everything much better than the other two carriers and also allows me to continue to hike longer distances. I use it on trails and in the city. It is tall but it folds to a remarkably slender width fitting between our car seat and the rear of my front seat. I am lucky enough to also have a Thule urban glide 2 and thought there was no way I needed this pack to go with but my son was boycotting the stroller after short distances and that problem is now resolved with this pack. He will ride in it almost indefinitely and does sleep in it comfortably. When fitted properly this pack is not overly heavy and I feel no pain after miles of hiking. I enjoy the detachable backpack as a diaper bag that sometimes I leave in our vehicle to minimize weight. It is high quality and I use when I am not using the main pack as well. I have physically viewed all of the Deuter Kid Comfort options and opted for the top of the line for several reasons. I will outline them below. I can say that ultimately if you are looking to save on weight the active and active SL will likely be your better choice but they are sacrificing the sun shade along with some other options and too me that was critical. 1)The pro integrates the sun shade into the top of the pack. It is the most substantial shade of them all. I have also walked in a decent rain storm and my son has not gotten wet. That being said that isn't its intended purpose. the comfort sunshade did feel flimsy and not as easy to operate as the pro. 2)I like the secondary diaper bag. As you can tell from photos the comfort, active and SL all have a main rear pocket but if the bag is turned contents can slip out and it is not protected from the elements, rain etc. the extra pack is well worth the investment. 3) The hips pockets are essential for your phone and wallet. I can easily be walking and answer a call or pay for a coffee without taking the pack off . 4) I enjoy the extra height of the Pro at the headrest as it seems my child would be slightly more protected in the event the pack fell or I did (obviously I don't leave unattended etc). I realize it shouldn't happen but its nice that its there; whether it would actually protect I don't know. The other kid comforts/brands didn't go nearly as high around the child's head. This pack will take a bit of getting used to. Currently the pack and my child are about 30 pounds on my back. I use my leg to aid in getting him on my back. I can tell you it isn't a reason to not get this bag and it has allowed us to continue getting out and being active and at the end of the day that is so important to new parents. The one downside I can see about this pack is the weight. That being said after a month of solid daily use I can not really see how the 8ish pound weight could be lessened. The chin rest and other child compartments are really good quality and will stand up to washing/spot cleaning. I have tried on several other brands and have friends who have other hiking style packs and I can say the Deuter truly is the nicest. The Vario adjustment system is amazing and creates a custom fit but it also breathes. I felt none of the competitor options came close to the comfort this strap system provided. I hope this helps if you are considering this pack. If anyone would like a photo or video please ask. Side Note: Thanks to backcountry and your service. I have been a loyal customer for years and I can honestly say your company is the best digital retailer I have ever dealt with.

excellent! Have you considered the rain shield? I am thinking I want that as well to protect from rain/wind even more.
