    Cavity Stem

On its own, the Deity Components Cavity Stem resembles a large, metal, anodized tooth, which hints at its strength to confidently connect your steerer tube and handlebars. Precisely machined out of 6061 T6 aluminum, the stem features a wide stance and a beefy 55mm faceplate that distributes force and increases stiffness when paired with wide handlebars.

Rounded edges throughout the body offer clean contours that won't dig into your shins when things go sideways. Additional machining on the sides reduce weight where it isn't needed without sacrificing strength and stiffness so you can drop in with confidence that this stem will hold its own through the rough.

    • A stem for ambitious off-road excursions
    • Precisely machined aluminum balances strength and light weight
    • Rounded edges prevent cuts and scrapes
    • Wide face plate distributes pressure and increases stiffness
    • 50mm option features flip flop design for height adjustment
    • Item #DTC0009

    Good stem

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times

This is a good stem, a little chunky looking if you're into that sort of thing. I've had both this and the copperhead and couldn't say which I liked better. Just buy whichever one suits you more I suppose.

Nice stem. Aggressive, durable, and sleek. Feels great!

    Second Only to the Copperhead

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Let's talk stems! If you want a flashy stem for your mountain bike, you've found Deity and if you don't know, they make the best MTB stems on the market. The Cavity here is only second to their Copperhead (DTC000J) sporting 3mm more stack and 16 more grams. Both come with sturdy 5mm allen bolts vs the janky 4mm you get with competitors. This still leaves one of the stiffest, lightest, best looking stems available. If you're not splitting hairs, do like I did and pick the one most appealing to you. I ride the Cavity on my dirt jump bike and the Copperhead on my trail bike. Either way, ride Deity!

    Nice Stem

Really effective stem and looks very cool. Great grip on the bar and a very low stack height. Well worth the price.

    Looks Aggressive and Burly

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times

I paired this stem in red with a red 787 Skyline 25mm rise bar and couldn't be happier. I went with the 50mm since I'm in between frame sizes and I wanted a little longer reach without affecting the handling. It's on a new Stumpjumper and the red color on a black bike makes it pop. Bling Bling. It's 5mm longer than factory and I flipped it to replicate the factory 6 degree rise.

    Cool kids delight

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Probably one of the coolest brands on the market right now with all the flashy, splashy colors to make your whip stand out extra lit. I do like the fact that can flip the stem to change the height about 10mm. Seems solid and well crafted. Should work great.

Paired this 35mm stem with the T-Mo enduro Carbon riser bar, the two work really well together and I've had no complaints! i kept it mellow and went with black, but I love the color options offered!

    Looks great and feels solid

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This stem looks really good on the bike if you're looking to do some color accenting. It feels stiffer and way more solid that my last stem which was narrow and had a narrow faceplate width. I was surprised how much the Cavity stem improved the feel of my cockpit. This stem is burly and confidence-inspiring but the weight is still reasonable.

    Burly stem without burly weight

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I ran the Deity Cavity on my Yeti SB66 for years, it's stiff enough, strong, and doesn't falter. I've trusted it for a long time, and will continue to. Plus, who can beat the bitchin' color options? Purple on purple is pretty rad.

    Ambitiously strong & lightweight

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times

Taking Wes' advice from his review I went with the 35mm since I am running this on my dj and plan to be in the air more than on the ground. Good choice Paired it with a pair of Deity bars and grips for a perfect match that will outlast most marriages Plus purple is on point...eye candy

When I took this stem out of the box, (which is packaged very pro) The boys were stoked! If you're having trouble deciding between the 50mm or the 35mm, Just determine how much air and tricks you're gonna doing. If you're riding more trail, or Dual Slalom, or pumptrack, run longer, I fyou're in the air more, spinning the bars, I'd advise the 35mm..

I have an aluminum frame with gloss finish. Will the Platinum silver color match? It appears to be a raw aluminum color but i cant tell.

Hi Andrew, I think it would match just fine! The picture on the official site is the same color. You could try it in person and return it if the colors don't match!
