    Great sock

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: L

I have worn Smartwool for years and decided to give these a shot since they were a few bucks cheaper. I definitely think these are just as good. I have a size 10 foot and ordered size large, I would advise those on the fringe to size down. I will be ordering a medium next time.

    Best Ski Socks Ever

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

This is a great, lightweight sock for a serious day of skiing. I am on the mountain anywhere from four to six days a week between teaching and free skiing big mountain terrain at Brighton, Utah. I wear these socks with the Salomon QST Pro 130 ski boot and find the fit between the two to be perfect and functional at all temperatures. Many of my other ski socks tend to bunch up around the toes while this is the only pair to not bunch up on me.

It is commonly thought that a thick sock should take the place of warmth in a ski boot where you only really need to have the proper boot fit and a thin sock.

Also if it helps, I ordered a Large and my foot size is a 12. Perfect sizing for me.

    Great Lightweight Sock

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I definitely get a little OCD with my ski socks as I run my boots super small (damn racing background..) and needs something that will be thin warm and comfortable and the Darn Tough Merino Wool True Seamless Over-The-Calf Padded Ultra-Light Ski Socks ticks all those marks so far.

The 64% merino wool, 33% nylon, 4% Lycra spandex weave allows the sock to balance warmth and comfort with stretchy fit and (with proper wash/drying) maintains shape while not being too firm. The thickness of the sock is just good enough for anyone who wants to run boots smaller than usual and I haven't had any rub points as of yet. I run a size 11 and the L fits me pretty well albeit a little bit narrow and the very top of the foot (damn bulbous big-toes).

If you are looking for a great all around lightweight ski sock, give this a shot for sure.

    Happy feet

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I gave these as a gift and this is what I was told about them:

They fit like a glove on my toes. My feet are happy, warm and perfectly regulated while on the slopes.

    Tough and reliable

Lightweight, thin, merino to keep the stink away. Can't go wrong with Darn Tough although the design on these is a bit boring. For something a bit more fun I prefer the Pinnacle http://www.backcountry.com/darn-tough-merino-wool-pinnacle-ultra-light-ski-socks-mens

    Surely Durable

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I got my friend a pair of these when he started as a ski instructor because he is not a fan of the thick ski socks. He has loved these and despite being lightweight they have been plenty warm for him. The merino wool is naturally anti-microbial, so the smell from being in boots all day is minimized. These are the typical ski-sock calf length. And the designs are shweet

    Lightweight feel, heavyweight materials

These things are bombproof. I got them because I recently sized down in ski boots and needed a thinner sock. I have worn them for about two weeks of skiing and have not seen any wear or tear. They put up with it all. I am a size 10 in street shoes, size 25.5 ski boot, and I sized down to a M. They fit pretty spot on. Get these if you need a one quiver ski sock for a trip or just like nice socks made in the USA

Lightweight + Merino + Seamless + Padding = comfy feet. These are great ski socks, they breathe well and keep your feet dry. The padding offers a little more comfort for the shins, and the seamless construction prevent bunching in your ski boots. Plus, they're made in Vermont! I wear a size 9 street shoe, and the M socks fit me perfectly.

    My go to ski sock

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Out of all the ski socks that I have owned these are by far the best. They are thin, durable, and extremely comfortable. Couldn't ask for anything more out of a ski sock. Although they may not be the thickest of socks they are extremely warm as well. On and off the hill I turn to these socks and they have never let me down.

Best socks since the original Smartwools

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

These are thin, supportive, close fitting socks. The material feels extremely tight-knit but form fitting. It will not stretch over-time. The feel like an updated (with a shin cushion and no seams) version of the original Smartwools from about 8 years ago- When Smartwools were actually mostly Merino wool (about 85-90%)- tight knit and bullet proof- I still have a couple of those for skiing which are on their last legs. No later smartwools came close in quality as they went cheaper in material. Tried Bridgedales (Very Good but not great), Dahlgrens (OK but do not last-lose shape and become loose), etc. These will do just fine as a replacement. They are actually a better fit than the old Smartwools and just as warm if not warmer-even though they do not have quite the same wool content as my old smartwools.

    Best socks I've ever had

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been using Darn Tough ultra light socks for years. I tried the new Ultra light padded and liked them even more than the regular Ultra light. Best ski socks I've ever worn. No seam at the toes to bind against the boot and they can be washed hundreds of times. They don't creep down in my boots and the little bit of padding just seems right.
