    Really Darn Tough

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Words cant express how much I love these socks. I originally picked up a pair several months ago, and since then they have been keeping my feet snug backpacking, climbing, and walking around campus. They are definitely made with hiking in mind, but they also make phenomenal day to day socks if you dont mind wearing the same pair of socks a few days in a row.

    Darn Tough = darn awesome

always looking for new brands of socks to try and stumbled upon these in the last year--great find, as they are awesome! They are comfortable, not too heavy, and are holding up well so far. Darn Tough = Darn Awesome

You'll thank yourself on the trail

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

They're thicker wool socks that can handle the wringer with ease.

      - Mountain treks, check.
      -Sopping wet trails, definitely.
-Freezing Minnesota temperatures, on the daily.

I don't travel without these socks. I rarely venture outdoors without these socks. They're kind of life-changing in that sense. (Maybe that's overdoing it.)

But, honestly, the wool make up keeps these socks fresh for long treks, multi-day trips, and for varying temperate ranges. I've worn the same pair in the summer and I've worn them in the winter -- excellent results.

      Can't Get Enough

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

You can't go wrong with Darn Tough. I have about 10 pairs of these socks--several of which I've had for over 3 years and show no signs of wear, even after many miles of hiking in them. These are the sock I recommend to all my friends.

      Real Nice

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these more as an everyday sock, and they are great! They are pretty minimal padding, so not like it feels weird with tennis shoes on or anything. But it is still enough to make them just that much more comfortable. They really are doing a great job of hiding odor as well. I've worn these a couple days in a row, and you'd really have a hard time telling. There is a lot of hype around these socks and it is all for good reason!

      Nice Socks!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I purchased these and another pair of Darn Tough socks as a gift for my step dad as he introduced me to the brand last year and he continues to love them. Soft and comfy, while also incredibly durable. Perhaps not the most exciting gift, but certainly one he appreciated!

      Can't go wrong with these

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Doing the happy feed dance! Love all my darn tough socks and have purchased several styles they make. These are great and have been wonderful to wear on my recent hikes. The Cushioning has been so great it make me feel like I can just keep walking all day.

These make me want socks for christmas

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been on a hunt for the right socks: thick enough for wear with work boots, but thin enough that I could hike or run in them without totally overheated feet, wool to keep the stink down, high enough for boots but not crazy looking with lower shoes, and won't grow holes in the heels immediately.

These tick all the boxes and are becoming my go-to for most days - whether that's walking around town, in the office, or out on a mountain.

      Great Hiking & Boot Socks

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I never expected to spend more than $4 on a pair of boot or hiking socks, so when I read reviews until my eyes bled and bought the Darn Tough socks, it was a very intentional decision. After only two or three wears I can see what all the hype is about. I decided to test them out by wearing them with some boots that fit me somewhat awkwardly - they stopped all the hot spots/rubbing I was used to, and I walked all day without even noticing the size problem with the boots. I wore them soon after on a long hike with a new pair of trail shoes and had the same experience - total comfort, they dried easily and I never once had to adjust them.

I'll be buying many pairs in the future to wear with boots and on hikes. As someone that regularly goes through socks from wearing boots, I can confidently say these Darn Toughs will outlive me.

      i have 6 pairs

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are long lasting, stink hiding socks. I wear them backpacking, hiking, winter exploring and day to day with boots. Just get a pair already, why don'tcha?

      My Favorite Hiking Socks

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wear these socks all the time while hiking or under my wader bootys while fishing. They have a nice cushion, dont bunch up over the day, wick moisture, and help combat foot stink. What more can you ask for?

Thicker and More Durable but Comfy

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Darn Tough sometimes feel like they have some tough sledding in the sock industry with other options being bigger names but I do find that some of their socks do really well from a comfort/performance ratio. Their Merino Wool Cushion Boot Sock is no different as that is exactly what it is made for as the sock feels way more top to bottom efficient from a durability and comfort standpoint when most other socks don't put as much into the tall part. The merino blend is a bit more durable than super soft but still remains comfy and the sizing is pretty much spot on.

      Your Feet Deserve These

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 175lbs

After several years of buying all heaps of different brands wool sock options, I wanted to give Darn Toughs a go. First off, I couldn't believe that these socks are guaranteed for life and they challenge you to try and wear them out, is just plain awesome! These have quickly become my go to socks for hiking, fishing, and living and I will continue to save my pennies to buy more pairs!

Perfect padding in just the right spots and the peace of mind that you won't blow through your investment, like i have with every other pair of Merino socks that I have bought from other companies.

I wear 9-9.5 (UK)shoes. Will medium be better or should i stick with large?I am think about 4-5 months in,they would start to loosen a bit,or thats not the case? Some Smartwool hikers i have have became a little too loose for my liking (large size).I dont mind tight after all i am kinda skinny(150 lbs).

      Hey Quake_gl

If you are ok with super tight socks then the Mediums would be a good choice however the size larges should do the trick. The compression band in both the mid and heel of the sock should help keep it's shape and prevent them from stretching out. I have a pair of these and they always become tight again after washing and I've had them for about 6 months now. I hope that this helps answer you questions and please let us know if you have any more.
