Why We Like The Trail 2650 GTX Hiking Shoe

Mountain weather is an unpredictable beast of its own, but we like to stay prepared for it with the Danner Trail 2650 GTX Hiking Shoe. Its GORE-TEX membrane keep our feet dry through unexpected downpours, while the Vibram rubber outsole ensures grip on slick rock and muddy trails. And when the weather takes on a dryer, hotter feel, this shoe has a breathable mesh lining to keep your feet from succumbing to the heat. Plus, thanks to low-profile athletic design you'll be able to move nimbly over technical trails and rocky terrain, but still have the support you need for long miles.

Beautiful shoe, poor fit

I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:

I loved the color and quality of these shoes. However, the fit was poor. Based on previous reviews, I ordered 1/2 size bigger than my usual size. Lengthwise, it was good. But it was just too narrow. Just too tight on the upper part of the foot. These shoes would be ok only for people with very narrow feet. Unfortunately they are going back.

looks good

I returned this product before using it

I don't know what is going on with Danner but I wish they would return to the old fit. These have a narrow toe box (I sized up for this reason) and the heel is so wide that even with thick socks my heel slipped out.

Good hiking shoe but runs small

I've used it several times
Size Bought:
5' 4"

I'm always a true size 8 in sneakers and hiking boots (keen, new balance, and danner) I have slightly narrow feet and found these to fit pretty small. I thought would work in summer with thinner socks which helps but wish I had returned and exchanged for size up before trying to break them in. Other than sizing I think they are great quality and a all around solid trail shoe.

Danner hiking shoes

I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
5' 4"

I have regular width feet, fit is narrow, purchased a half size up, fit is tight. There are rough edges where the tongue if the shoe meets the inside that feel like needles poking the top of your foot. I had these on w>th wool hiking socks in the house and could not bear the pain for 15 minutes, need to return. Very disappointed. Going back to Salomon, the best fit ever, no pain.

Best Hiking Shoe I've had!

Size Bought:

I've completed 3 very different hikes with these shoes, and they were fantastic each time! I originally my usual size (6.5), but ended up sending back for a 7. I was grateful for the extra toe room yesterday when navigating a pretty rocky downhill. The grip held up on mossy rocks and downed trees for two different river crossings. The shoes were comfortable with no break in period, and definitely kept me going all day strong. I had been looking for several months for the right hiking shoe, and these are 100% them. You will not regret this purchase!
