    Tackle any terrain.

The Danner Men's Mountain 600 Hiking Boot carries Danner's legendary quality with premium protection from the elements and aggressive traction on the trail. This low-profile hiking boot is versatile enough for both around-town wear and grueling treks across challenging terrain. The secret to its street-to-trail versatility lies in a smooth-wearing suede upper paired with a Danner Dry waterproof membrane, making for a seamless blend of style and weather protection.

It's built on a relatively low-profile DPDX last, which retains sure-footed stability without adding much bulk. The TPU heel last bolsters stability across the rear of the boot, preventing it from folding in on itself during steep descents. It also boasts the responsive cushioning of a Vibram SPE midsole and unrelenting grip of a Vibram Fuga sole, so you can confidently conquer miles on rocky trails, muddy forests, and snow-covered streets.

    Light

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

Super lightweight compared to my other boots. My first pair of danners solely for short day hikes. So far I like the traction on it and how light it feels at the end of a long hike. Many more miles to come. Great quality

    Just Bought a Second Pair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10.5

I rarely find a product that I like so much that I buy a second pair. I highly recommend these boots, they're rugged, comfortable, waterproof, and they look pretty classic.

    Everyday Boots

I've been wearing these almost everyday to work for the past month and a half and each day I don't think twice about if they'll be comfortable when I go to put them on in the morning. I work in an R&D Lab that has me constantly on my feet all day so I wanted to get someting comfortable but more professional than tennis shoes, and these boots answered that to a "T". I find that I go for these instead of my tennis shoes when I'm going out and about because I just enjoy wearing them that much. The only real downside to them is their non-breathablity, but honestly you don't realize until you take them off and notice your socks are damp. I've found that wearing merino wool socks deffintely help to keep the puppies dry better than cotten socks. I'm looking forward to taking them on the trails and already looking forward to my next pair!

    Best boots for the price

I've had my Danner 600's for over a year and wear them daily. I originally bought them because I am a facility manager at a large warehouse and am on my feet on a concrete floor most of the day. A big part of my job is also in an office environment so they had to look "dressy" enough (which most hiking boots dont). I was blown away immediately by the fit and comfort of these boots. I loved them so much I bought a second pair to replace my hiking boots. and i wont be looking back. The design is pretty form fitting and does not carry the bulk of many boots, and the tread design and material is perfect for rock scrambling in the northeast. One aspect that also blew me away was how waterproof they are. I have full confidence in any wet conditions and ive never had any problems with water GETTING IN. My ONLY complaint, and its more of a trade off, is they are not breathable at all. Long hot days have me finding my feet as prunes when I take them off at night. The danner material isnt gore tex and cant be expected to breathe as such. With that said, every other aspect of these boots is perfect and well worth every penny.

    Most comfortable boots!

These are the most comfortable hiking boots that I have ever worn. I always wear Danner shoes and this style fits so well and gives a lot of support with lots of cushioning!

    DANNER 600 HIKING BOOT

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11.5 MEDIUM WIDTH
    • Height: 5'7"

THE BOOTS ARE COMFORTABLE AND SEEM TO ADD ENERGY TO MY STEP. FEET ARE DRY WITH APPROPRIATE SOCK SOLUTION
THESE BOOTS ARE MY EVERYDAY FOOTWEAR.
MY ONLY LAMENTS ARE THAT THE EXTRA LACES AREN'T RED BUT BROWN. I PREFER THE MORE TRADITIONAL BROWN LEATHER/RED LACES LOOK AND WISH THAT YOU HAD EXTRA LACES FOR SALE. ALSO THE BOOT CANNOT BE RESOLED.

    Amazing

Looking forward to wearing these in

I bought these as a Christmas gift for my Fiance and this is what he said, "I love the classic mountaineer boot look and the updated Vibram sole. I have done some light hiking in these so far and have not had an issue with slipping or my feet getting tired from standing on them all day. Another awesome feature that is really hard to find is the suede upper that is waterproof. I wasn’t convinced on how the leather would hold up to water so I tried pouring a bit of water and sure enough it did not absorb into the upper and did not leave any water marks. I plan on taking these boots with me for our honeymoon in the Swiss Alps this summer and I know they are going to last!"

    Comfortable and Durable

The Danner Mountain 600 boot has everything; with a comfortable feel, supportive footbed, and a durable sole. I wear these boots around town, hiking, and backpacking.

I would recommend these to anyone looking for a nice looking and quality pair of boots.

Ive had these shoes for about a year. Very comfy. They are a great shoe for the summer and fall. I normally wear a size 12 but these run a little big for some reason. You may want to try it on before you buy it. But with thicker winter socks it fits great.

    No-BS boots

I have a hard time buying hiking boots. Either they're too clunky for the amount of support (feel like sparring armor) or they're just built poorly, all glued together with too much mesh and materials that wont hold up when you rub them against rocks and gravel for a couple thousand miles. These danners, happily, are different. They're simply constructed and tough. I expect them to keep my feet happy for thousands of miles like my previous pair.

Everything I look for in a boot

I've had these for an entire year now and I have to say, they are everything I had hoped for when they initially came out. I've backpacked well over thirty times in them and have hiked endless miles over the past year in them, all four seasons. They retain heat well with wool socks, they are comfortable as any solid pair of sneakers I've ever owned (Vibram soles are a miracle). The waterproof material is amazing and works perfectly with the boot liner (You can walk through decent sized streams without getting your feet wet). I have to say that in the next year or two, I'll either get another pair in a different color, or perhaps the same color. Well done Danner.

    Danner 600's do it all.

I received my Danners 1 day before leaving on a 3 day adventure through the Porcupine Mtns in Michigans Upper Peninsula. Worried a little about break-in time I wore them through day one, no troubles, hiked through water almost ankle deep, no leaks, hiked some very rugged terrain along rivers, up steep moss covered rocks, so slippage whatsoever. Day two and day three were the same. Had only one problem by the end, being as waterproof as they are your feet can't breath and the sweat in these boots, so they stayed a touch wet throughout the trip. Had I anticipated this I would have tried drying them over night two. So really hot weather they will make you sweat and will stay a touch wet, but cooler weather, around 70 and under you should be just fine. It wasn't enough for me to drop a star because these boots will grip everything and they are the business straight out of the box, so 5 big ol' stars from me.

    Lightweight but capable boot

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Height: 6'0"

These are lightweight boots with a soft sole that work best for hikes on relatively level trails and a light pack. I brought them to Italy to hike the Majella Massif, which with trails of about 4000-6000 feet up and down & from 10 to 15 miles, pushed them a bit far. While they worked OK on rough talus slopes, uneven terrain, and steep slopes, I found it hard to tighten them enough when descending without uncomfortably squeezing my feet due to their overall flexibility. The soft sole is well cushioned, but it also allows sharp rocks to prod your feet a bit. There is also a seam that runs right across the base of my pinky toe that rubs...a minor annoyance, but nothing major. Be sure to take off the sticker on the insole with acetone or another solvent. On a very long hike it partially detached, leaving glue exposed that created a hot spot and very nearly a blister. I put sunscreen on it just in time to lessen the friction. On the up side, they were not too hot, even in 80 F weather. All told, I am happy with them, but given the somewhat extreme place where I did most of my hiking, in retrospect I wish I had brought a heavier pair of boots.

    Solid Boot & Comfortable

You get a lot for the price of this boot. They are well built & there's no break-in period. Comfortable right out of the box. I did have to send back the first pair because the sizing was one full size too large. I would recommend them for Spring/Fall/Winter wear as they are pretty warm.

Most Comfortable Boot I've Ever Owned

These are by far the best boot I've ever had on my feet. Even after a full day of hiking in these bad boys, my feet feel fine. The are so light they feel like a sneaker. I've owned Danner boots before but these might be my favorite. 100% would recommend to a friend.

Great boots, gets hot in there

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9

This boot is awesome. Construction is solid, it is super lightwweight. I feel like I am wearing a sneaker. Grip is amazing and there is absolutely zero break-in period needed. Good to go fresh out of the box. My only issue is that it gets hot in there. Going from working the outdoors and then stopping to sit or eat, I can feel the heat radiating around and I am afraid it may lead to some funk. I use the Danner wildland boots for work and I feel they do a better job of heat management. Could be I have extra sweaty/hot feet too. GREAT BOOT! WOULD GET ANOTHER PAIR IF I HAD TO!

This boot takes all comers. It is light, durable, comfortable, and warm. Since I have purchased them, it's all that I have worn. I have no complaints. It looks great in an urban environment and also functions well on the trail. They fit true to size. Also, Dan Gates, my sales rep, was super helpful.

    Unanswered Question

Would this boot be too warm for hiking Inca Trail in August (~70 F)? Reading awesome reviews on this boot, but some mention that it can get warm inside. Limited experience here picking boots, so any recommendations on lighter (but sturdy) options are much appreciated. Thanks!
