Re-grip your pow surfer with fresh traction or add some grip to the pow surfer you made in your garage with the Dakine Pow Surfer Kit. If you're unfamiliar with pow surfers, they're shorter, wider decks meant to be ridden without bindings for a true surf feeling in powder. The six lightweight and cushy EVA pads in this kit help you keep your footing when you're shredding sans bindings, and they can be trimmed to fit the specific size and shape of your pow surfer.

How did they know?
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Seems unlikely to me that there are tons of people out there making their own pow surfers.... but I'm one of them, and couldn't be more stoked to have quality dakine traction that fits my boards with just a bit of trimming. Having the ramps on all 4 sides is rad, or you can actually set it up with only the back foot ramp and one pad for front foot and you can do 3 boards with 2 of these kits.
I guess the other application they might have in mind is slapping this on a snowboard. Which, if you happen to have rad old pow board you're ready to retire, would be super fun too.
As far as actual traction vs. the other alternatives... in my opinion this diamond cut foam take from the surf world is perfect. You can kick snow and ice out easily at the start of each run, and it grips my Sorels and snowboard boots very well.
I've been waiting for this!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I fit into a very small niche of folks that build their own pow surfers from scratch. I've been sampling various types of foam and this is the one I've been waiting for. The heal/toe ramps are more than generous, and I got away with only using 4 of the 6 pieces, with plenty of coverage for any stance. Really excited to give this a go this winter!
