Why We Like The DAKINE Phoenix Gore-Tex Mitten
When the weather is almost as gnarly as the powder, we pull on the DAKINE Phoenix GORE-TEX Mitten and own the mountain. These mitts are made to withstand the worst that Mother Nature can dish out with an insulated outer mitten made with GORE-TEX Infinium for wind and water resistance. Inside that outer soft shell, the Phoenix features a removable performance liner with a GORE-TEX insert to add breathable waterproofing as well as PrimaLoft Gold insulation, which insulates when wet while delivering the same warmth-to-weight as 750-fill power down. These premium materials let us mix and max layers to regulate our temperature and adjust to changing weather and activity levels as we're skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, or snowmobiling.

The Phoenix Gore-Tex Mitten is a well constructed mitten with good dexterity and a warm primaloft gold insert. It is not as thick and warm as the primaloft insert from Hestra (which does fit in this mitten), but does provide more dexterity. It is a solid combination of warmth, ruggedness, waterproofing and dexterity for a mitten.
