The Columbia Bugaboo IV Fleece Interchange Jacket zips apart into three pieces of gear depending on what the day calls for. The waterproof-breathable shell uses a silver dot lining that reflects body heat back at you, so it works on its own in cold, dry conditions or wet ones. The fleece liner adds warmth when zipped in and holds its loft on its own when the shell isn't needed, with a water-repellent finish that keeps it from soaking through on damp days. We built this system so one jacket covers a mountain morning, a warmer afternoon, and everything in between.
