I usually wear a medium but ordered a large because of reviews, it’s a little roomy which I dot care since I go skiing and like to layer on colder days. Has good pockets. The price point is great for what it offers

I almost always wear a medium. I bought a large because of the reviews. It was too big. I exchanged for a medium and I love it. Great warmth for mild days. Snow skirt was useful.

The small was too tight for range of movement on slopes when you add a layer. I’m 5’3” and 115lbs & needed med also when normally I take a small. Jacket was warm and functional for skiing and sledding. Good price for the quality. Wish they had an exterior ring to attach ski pass.

    Well made but small

Well, I had searched for a long time for this coat in my size- ordering in February is not the best idea, but I work outside and needed a new, durable coat that could withstand the weather and that I can move in. I searched so long and hard on so many sites that I DIDN'T READ THE REVIEWS here! I found it, was excited, and I ordered it. LOL! The jacket is really well made, I love the neck and the sleeves would keep the elements out, but it is WAY too small (echoing most everyone else's review). I'm actually really surprised how small it is. I'm generally fairly slight in the shoulders, so that even a Medium is roomy there but fits everywhere else, but the shoulders on this jacket were tight, I had to lift the zipper above my hips to zip, and barely got it to zip past my chest. I'm disappointed I have to return it, and am hesitant to reorder since I'm not even sure a large will fit me in the way I need it to. Moral of the story: size (way?) up and READ the reviews:)

I purchased this jacket and ordered a size up based on reading the reviews.. I typically order a small but I wanted room for layers. First off, the jacket is so stinkin' warm that I really don't think you'll need layers. Second, this medium size was so huge on me, particularly in the shoulders and the waist. I also didn't find it as flattering as it looks in the picture. So, unfortunately, I have to return it. But I do love the Red Mercury color and the functionality is fantastic! I'm disappointed I don't get to keep it.

So I waited until I tested this jacket out to use it (I've been using it just as a standard winter coat, but I took it skiing in Utah last week) It's a great jacket for keeping you warm without overheating! Here's the thing - I'm 5'2", fairly petite, 34C, 120lbs, and the small fits (almost) great. I definitely wouldn't have wanted the XS I would have typically ordered. Con: I can't button the powder skirt over my hips. I don't have "big" hips. However, I could just be doing something wrong since I've never used a powder skirt. Didn't really miss it when I was skiing, so... Also, the jacket zips up almost to my nose, however, it's way to tight to be comfortable zipped up that far. I have to tuck my chin really hard to actually zip it up that far. Pro: Thumb hole sleeve - helped keep the jacket tight to my gloves, and it's an awesome thin stretchy material so it's not bulky under your gloves at all. Ski pass pocket - didn't realize how awesome that little pocket on the arm was until I went skiing and was able to swipe in without taking the pass out of the pocket! Hood is nice and deep without being crazy, has a little brim and stays up fairly well. Overall, it's a really nice jacket. Lot's of great pockets.

I love how simply and functional this jacket is. It will keep you warm and dry all day on the mountain. It's not too bulky like a lot of other ski jackets that make you feel like a marshmallow. A great winter jacket for the price.

Got the rich wine color and it's beautiful! Originally purchased a medium but had to return it to a different company and bought the large from Backcountry at an even better price. I wear a medium but had to get the large to be able to get it over my hips and chest. I have curves so the jacket would not come over my hips. Large looks big on me and the sleeves are definitely longer than they should be but I still LOVE IT! I hope it works great on the ski slopes.

This jacket is very nicely made. Because of the snug fit I won't be able to do any layering so unfortunately, I'm going to have to return it. It's a shame because it really is a nice jacket.

    Ski season

I purchased this jacket for the upcoming ski season and got a chance to test this out the other day while messing around learning to snowboard for the first time. I am 5'2" and about 150lbs and I sized up to a large to adjust for wearing winter layers underneath. This fit perfectly with a t-shirt and a hoodie underneath, and still had just enough room for proper arm/body movement. The arms have a thin layer that goes around your hands with a thumbhole, which was super handy for keeping my jacket sleeves in place while putting gloves on and off. I had never had a jacket that had that feature before and I loved it. There are two standard side pockets on the outside of the jacket and one inside pocket on the left chest which perfectly fit my ski lift pass, ID and any cards I was carrying and my chapstick. There is also an extra snap closure to keep the bottom inside hem taught around your waist to keep any snow from getting inside the jacket. After testing this out during many a fall while learning a new snow sport, I have to say this is a great jacket! The only con, and it isn't really a con for me, is that it is a single layer jacket. There isn't a separate jacket and shell that you zip together. Personally I prefer that because it feels less bulky. I would highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a new ski/snowboarding jacket.

I bought these for my sisters birthday and this is her review: "I ordered a small and I'm 5'3", 120ish lbs. I love my coat! Love the red wine color and it's super warm and I love the many pockets around the coat. The coat is also not very bulky which is another feature I like about it. I should be able to layer two thinner shirts under the coat (probably a bulky sweatshirt won't work, but long sleeved shirts will be just fine.) My one complaint is that the sleeves are a tiny bit too short for me (which is unusual because I'm normally battling sleeves being too long) so the thumb holes on the end of the sleeve are a bit too tight for my liking. However overall I love my coat and I'm excited for to use it!"

This jacket was great. Temps down to 5F at the summit and the wind was kept out and my body kept warm (with long underwear, longsleeve and zip up underneath). Great value for the price!

    Solid buy with interesting sizing

Size: 2-4 top, 6-8 bottoms Used in: 6F to 40F, walking with some pretty fierce wind and snowmobiling. Findings: This kept out the snow, wind, and cold wonderfully, but I would have liked more pockets. Also, I'm not sure it would do well if it had been much colder, or if there had been more wind on the chillier days. On the plus side, I didn't overheat when I wore it near the 40s (with human-bowling wind). Fit: I bought a small in Iris and a medium in Black to test the colors and the size, since I'm heavy-bottomed and others said it ran small. I honestly found the fit comparable--both were comfy, with enough room to wear underarmour and a thick sweater underneath, with some room to spare. The main difference seemed to be in the circumference of neckpiece. If you don't like a snug neckpiece or have a thicker neck, small is not for you. Also, the optional hand warmer thingies were very warm, but felt a little short compared to the jacket's sleeve. When I wore it, it felt it felt like it was trying to pull my hand back in, even though the sleeves are almost too long for me. Style: My clothing needs to be functional and look good, and this did both. It wasn't too sporty or bulky, so I felt like I could still rock the streets AND be comfortable. That said, I ended up keeping the black instead of the Iris, which was a little...middle-aged looking.

I can't tell, is there an inner lining that is removable?

There is not, no. This is just an insulated jacket, not a triclimate / 3 in 1 jacket
