Beige Triathlon / TT Bike Pedals & Accessories

For time trials and aero-focused triathlons, an aero TT pedal like the TT24 is designed for speed, offering carbon construction, an 890mm2 support area, and about 21% less drag than the Speedplay Aero. Standard road clipless pedals such as Shimano models favor steady high-power efforts and long-term durability for everyday training and road races.

Yes — cleat compatibility is key, so make sure your triathlon shoes accept the road-style cleat pattern for the pedal you choose; Shimano offers fixed 2-degree or 6-degree float via cleats while Speedplay provides adjustable float for fine-tuning. Also check that your shoe allows rearward spindle placement if you want to reduce front-foot pressure and tweak cleat angle for your biomechanics.

Hybrid pedals with one clipless side and one platform side or full platform pedals typically make transitions quickest because you can run in bare feet or grab the platform easily, while magnetic pedals like Magped help with easier entry and exit for beginners. Toe-clip systems work for casual long-distance rides but are generally slower for race-style transitions.

Lightweight carbon models shave grams and can improve aerodynamics; for example, Shimano 105 PD-7000 weighs about 265 grams per pair and many TT-specific pedals are under 300 grams. Alloy pedals tend to offer greater durability and a serviceable design that’s often better for daily training and mixed-use riding.

Larger platforms spread force across more area for comfort and stable power transfer—TT24’s oversized 890mm2 platform is a good example of that design. Moving the spindle rearward also reduces pressure on the ball of the foot, which can improve comfort on long rides without sacrificing pedaling efficiency.
