Toddler Girls' Green Rain & Wind Jackets

For quick, casual play in steady drizzle a polyurethane rain slicker is fine because it delivers basic waterproofing and packs light. For longer adventures or stormy conditions, choose a waterproof/breathable shell with a 2-layer DryVent-style fabric to keep kids drier during active play; models like the REI Co‑op Rainier lean toward that breathable, windproof side.

Leave a little extra room so a fleece or sweater fits underneath—many brands offer sizes from XXS to XXL to accommodate growth. Opt for a relaxed cut with waist-length or hip-length options and adjustable cuffs or hems so the jacket won’t restrict movement when layered.

Taped seams and a non‑PFC DWR finish are the most important waterproofing details that stop water at the seams and bead rain on the shell. Also look for an attached adjustable hood, gathered cuffs, and a windproof build for better protection during blustery, wet outings.

A 3‑in‑1 jacket is handy when temperatures swing because the removable fleece liner adds warmth for cool days while the outer shell handles rain when it’s wet. That layering flexibility means you can adapt from chilly to rainy without carrying multiple coats.

Many rain and wind shells are designed to pack down into their own pocket or compress small, and materials like recycled polyester with light 2‑layer constructions help keep bulk low. Look at compact options such as the Columbia Arcadia II with soft 2‑layer DryVent and mesh lining or the REI Co‑op Rainier for breathable, packable protection.
