Green Helmet Cameras & Accessories

Check the mount's compatibility with your helmet and camera, since many mounts use the standard 1/4-inch thread for broad camera fit. Heavier helmets usually reduce shake, and you may want extra mounts or angled adapters for specific helmet geometries or shot types.

For wet conditions, waterproof housings protect the camera and let you confidently shoot in rain or water sports, and some kits like the Vivitar 787HD include a housing plus remote and mounts for easy setup. Keep in mind housings add bulk and can change audio capture, so they’re best when protection outweighs weight concerns.

If you want full surroundings and versatile framing, a 360-degree model like the Insta360 X4 with 8K capture is ideal for immersive POV and replaying different angles. Standard action cams still work great for single-direction POV footage and pair well with helmet or bike mounts for stable framing.

Very important—optical image stabilization outperforms digital methods on bumpy terrain and helps preserve image quality during rough rides. Pair stabilized cameras with secure bike mounts designed for vibration to get smoother footage on trails.

If you plan long days of recording, bring spare battery packs or external battery options to extend runtime, since continuous recording drains cells quickly. Also consider fast, high-capacity microSD support so you can store long clips without swapping cards frequently.
