The Illumina's back panels are made entirely of durable polyester that keeps the wind off but still allows some breathability so your hands don't get clammy. The palms are embedded with light padding to absorb a bit of shock and vibration from the road while still letting you feel a connection to the bike. The cuffs are long enough to comfortably stay put underneath long sleeves, and the first two digits have a silicone treatment for more affirmative grip of your shifters and levers.
